Cormani McClain, one of Sanders’ coveted cornerback recruits, left the Buffs program with a dramatic exit. However, McClain didn’t just stop with the sudden departure. He fueled the drama by taking a jab at his former coach, stating, “I just don’t want to play for clicks.” His comments implied dissatisfaction with the program and a desire for a team that prioritized him more.

Initially, McClain’s criticism had a blowing effect on Coach Prime’s reputation. However, the situation seems to have backfired for the young athlete now. McClain’s actions, including his sudden departure and critical comments, are viewed as immature by potential schools, making them hesitant to pursue him.

Cormani McClain’s recent controversy isn’t the only red flag for college programs. He skipped his high school signing ceremony and reportedly backed out of verbal commitments with several other schools before choosing the Colorado Buffaloes. McClain was drawn to Deion Sanders’ legendary cornerback skills. However, McClain’s respect for Coach Prime didn’t last. He reportedly missed several classes and practices. Soon after, he entered the transfer portal like many other Buffs players. However, McClain went further, tarnishing Coach Sanders’ reputation with his critical “click-based comment. Some even speculate jealousy might be at play, perhaps due to the rising fame of Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Travis Hunter on Deion’s team.

Regardless, McClain’s behavior after leaving Colorado raises concerns among college programs. They fear he may repeat his immature actions with a new team. College football already has its share of drama, and it seems McClain might not be “mature enough to handle it. However, things can change over time, so McClain may find a program to help him mature on and off the field.
