In what is a scary collision, Virginia RB Perris Jones had to be stretchered out of the field amid the game. Everybody is concerned with the player’s health as the medical team took him away to the hospital.

It is a sad day for the world of football as a tragedy happened on the field putting the life of a player at risk. In a scary incident during the Virginia vs. Louisville game, a player was carted away after an unnerving collision. Virginia running back Perris Jones went down after a major hit as players from both teams surrounded the player as the medical team put him on a stretcher.

Perris Jones took a swing pass and ran upfield when he got hit. He fell forward amidst several Louisville players. The medical team stretchered him to the U of L Medical Center. As per the report, Jones’ eyes are open but he’s not moving. While Louisville went on to win 31-24, it is fearsome to think of what lay ahead for Perris Jones but may he recover and take away this air of suspense and remorse.
The incident happened in the late third quarter of the Thursday night game. After a helmet-to-helmet clash, he fell to the Louisville sidelines where the team trainers immediately came to assist him. Following this incident, Virginia receiver Malik Washington scored a touchdown but by then, everybody on the field was huddled around Perris Jones.

As Perris Jones was moved to the University of Louisville Hospital, the game resumed. Virginia led in the early fourth quarter with 24-17. But during the fourth quarter, Louisville star Jack Plummer accounted for a 52-yard touchdown giving the teams a tie at 24-24.
In the last moments of the game, Louisville RB Isaac Guerendo secured an impressive 73-yard touchdown run leading to a 31-24 victory over Virginia. But after all that happened, we can’t blame Virginia for their distracted play.

With the last win, Louisville defeated Virginia 31-24 and leads 2nd in the ACC with 9-1. They’ll face their 6-3 Miami Hurricanes in Week 11 while Virginia moves forward to face the 6-3 Duke Blue Devils. While Virginia will be playing without Perris Jones, we hope the best for him and to see him shining on the football field once more.
