Travis Hunter, with his seniority, brings out the playful side in him. After his teammate Shedeur Sanders, it’s now Colorado Buffaloes’ wide receiver Kaleb Mathis who’s the target of Hunter’s harmless senior-year pranks. This light-hearted banter within the team, even extending to coach Kevin Mathis’ son, reflects the strong camaraderie within the Buffs’ dual threat’s radar.

Kaleb now seems to be a soft target in Deion Sanders’ program as, before Hunter, Shedeur played a prank on the wide receiver. However, Mathis hardly pays any attention to the teasing as he has some huge responsibilities to take over.

The Colorado Buffaloes, in their quest to overturn the 4-8 narrative of the last season, are not all about serious business. Despite the pressure, the players know how to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. As captured by Well Off Media, Hunter took a break from his grueling session to come up with a joke, showcasing the fun and lightness within the team. Pointing at Deion Sanders Jr., the man behind the camera, he seeks Bucky’s help to pan the camera toward Mathis to make fun of him, “Hey bro show Kaleb show Kaleb…no you got show right now.”

Hunter then made a cutting remark, “Tell him bro that he scared me for life, bro.” Of course, the two-way phenom wanted to use his seniority privilege while pulling the Buffs newbie’s leg here. “Hey K, he about to show you,” came Hunter smiling, as if he was lightheartedly threatening Kaleb that there was something about him that Bucky was about to expose to the fans. The Buffs QB sensation, too, played a prank on Kaleb while pulling the wide receiver’s leg.

Shedeur’s banter session with Kaleb

On June 15, Reach The People Media posted a video. In the clip, Shedeur is seen all chatty with his team. Even though Shedeur respects coach Kevin Mathis, Kaleb cannot ward off Shedeur’s banter. The Buffs QB seems to be having a good time with the boys when suddenly he chooses to poke fun at Kaleb. He directed a joke at the coach’s son, “They said you have some type of award called getting strapped up.”

He jokingly inquires Kaleb whether he will accept the award, and when he says no, Shedeur then comes up with yet another tease. Being the master of mimicry, as he had always done with his father and brother Shilo, he brushed up his skills in impersonating the wide receiver. Bringing up a funny creased brow expression, Shedeur added, “He’s been accepted with start wrinkles in his forehead, plus he got a fade.”

By now, Mathis has been well aware of the people Shedeur and Hunter are. Hence, instead of taking offense at the tricks played on him, he has now embarked on achieving something bigger. Now that Hunter will be off to the NFL in the next year, the Buffs WR position will be blank. Mathis now runs after mastering the “winning culture” for the 2025 season to take up the dual-threat position.
