Jim Harbaugh has given Michigan a ton of good things. One of them is a three-win streak dominance over their arch-nemesis, the Ohio State Buckeyes. With the highly awaited Michigan-Ohio State rivalry still about 5 months away, the fans are already wondering if Michigan would make it a 4-0 clean sweep against Ryan Day and Co. However, since Ryan Day has made the roster developments clear in his press conference, Ohio State has set the tone straight of going down swinging against Michigan.

While the Wolverines were enjoying the falling confetti after their 3rd consecutive win, Ryan Day was plotting to make one solid roster. Speaking with the reporters before a luncheon at Vitria on the Square on Tuesday, Ryan Day confirmed that he is happy with the roster and that it is mostly set for the season. “I feel like we have a good balance, hooked really hard to make sure we have depth to every position,” Day iterated. Yet, they still haven’t closed “the walk-on position“. Day believes it has been a part of CFB for a long time and would like it to stay that way.

On the QB side, Day is happy seeing the QB room crowded since their QB quest was the toughest. It would be a game-changing factor since they plan on running the QB “a little more this year.” Now, Day would need to tread very carefully on the QB1 position. The image of Kyle McCord picking himself up off the Michigan Stadium turf while Rod Moore intercepted his final pass still daunts OSU. Will Howard looks like a good choice but he’ll surely need to earn it. While the QB situation looks pretty sorted, Ryan Day hasn’t held back in refining his offensive and defensive line as well.

Is OSU’s offense and defense better than Michigan’s?

The offense is also pretty bolstered up with former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins and former Alabama center Seth McLaughlin ready to play in the tandem. Defensively speaking, OSU throttled most of the teams it faced. Add Caleb Downs’ transfer, eight starters coming back, and a few former top prospects figuring out the two starting linebacker spots. It will be one fine show. The best part is that OSU is still under the threshold of the NCAA of having only 85 scholarship players annually.

For Michigan, their offense is already top-notch with Alex Orji, Donovan Edwards, and Tyler Morris. The depth they have in each of these positions is just an additional boastful thing for them. That will be something Day will have to stay wary of. However, OSU’s biggest strength, the defense, might prove to be an Achilles heel since their secondary depth seems flicker-ish. Sure, talents like Will Johnson, Makari Paige, and Quinten Johnson are huge but they need to stay healthy.
