Is this the year Ryan Day proves Heather Dinich right and crushes Michigan's hopes?

“It’s Now Or Never For Ryan Day” Well folks, as much as some of us hate agreeing with Paul Finebaum, this time he might just be right. With a 3-0 losing streak against the Wolverines, the Buckeyes need to clutch in a win this season, or it’s a bust for Ryan Day. Sherrone Moore is out there all set with his team to grab another straight season win against Ohio. So how is the pressure for Ryan Day this season? Well, he answered just that on ESPN Get Up.

On July 23rd, Mike Greenberg from ESPN Get Up asked Ryan Day the tough question. “How would you describe the way the pressure to win that game feels for a person who sits in your seat?” Mike asked. “What we can’t do is get too far ahead of ourselves and start to focus too much on that and get distracted. That’s just the bottom line,” Day explained. With around 12 players returning to the team this season and also getting Chip Kelly on board, Ryan Day has made some major progress for the 2024 season. Day has also gone on to grab high-profile recruits like Will Howard, Caleb Downs, and Quinshon Judkins. Even on an earlier episode of Get Up, Heather Dinich showed massive confidence for the Buckeyes. “When I look at this team, I see three losses Greeny: at home against Texas, at home against Oregon, and as we just talked about against the Buckeyes,” Dinich mentioned. From what we saw in the episode, Dinich is quite sure that this year will be a win for the Buckeyes against the Wolverines.

With Jim Harbaugh’s exit this year from the Wolverines, maybe this could be a final shot for Ryan Day to defeat them. While Day has transferred all the play calling to Kelly for this season because of the offensive experience he has, fans of OSU still gotta keep in mind that Sherrone Moore will not make things easy.

Moore is all set for this season with his locker room prepped with solid players. Jack Tuttle, Alex Orji, and Carter Smith all stand to take the helm and lead the team. While Harbaugh’s exit might have triggered the dreaded “it’s so over” for the team, the recruitment swagger that Moore has brought back in definitely brings out “we’re so back”. Josh Pete from CBS College Football had the perfect advice for Moore. “if that defense really does come through and gives that offense time to gel and they go into Columbus in late November and they win that thing,” Pete said.

As discussed before, Moore already has solid recruits on his hands. All he gotta do is make sure that the team defense does not suffer cause the Buckeyes have an advantage in that department this year with Kelly onboard. Either way, only time will tell if Moore manages to carry forward Harbaugh’s legacy or if Ryan Day finally manages to break the 3-year curse.
