The joining year Harbaugh was the only one with shreds of hope, as after that, the team compiled six straight win-less playoff appearances. To make matters worse, this season Harbaugh faced two three-game suspensions due to the sign-stealing debacle. Yet, they emerged as the miracle team of football this season. Now, their winning chances are even more roller-coaster-ish than their whole season.

Alabama and Michigan are on the cusp of having a showdown of a lifetime. However, this season the pigskin ball is in the No. 1 Michigan’s court. Per ESPN FPI numbers, the Wolverines have a 55.6% chance to defeat the coming-in-too-hot SEC Champions. Speaking of wins, the team has high hopes for the National Championship this season as they have a 36% chance of winning the National Championship, as the last National championship they brought home was in 1997.

Per the same ratings, the Wolverines’ probable opponents for the National Championship appear to be the Texas Longhorns, as they have a whopping 69.2% chance to beat Washington. Yet, they fall short in the National Championship with just 29.2% odds. The credible entities for making Michigan the formidable team for the National Championship since 1997? Harbaugh’s persistence throughout the years and his team have some of the best talents in the nation.

Michigan boasts about their almost flawless roster with one hell of a stringent defense and an offense in which the front five have been awarded the Joe Moore Award.
