According to some ticket companies, prices are at least double compared to past seasons.

According to StubHub, the Rose Bowl is outpacing the Sugar Bowl in terms of cost and is on track to become the best-selling College Football Playoff semifinal since the 2018 Rose Bowl featuring Georgia and Oklahoma. StubHub spokesperson Adam Budelli highlighted the exceptional demand driven by the Alabama vs. Michigan matchup, with sales doubling those of the Sugar Bowl and surpassing last year’s games.

On secondary marketplaces like Ticketmaster and TickPick, average ticket prices for the Rose Bowl exceed $1,000, experiencing a slight drop of around $100 from earlier in the week. For those looking for more budget-friendly options, the most affordable tickets for the game can be secured on TickPick for $537, inclusive of fees. Typically, the cheapest tickets for the game are situated in the upper sections of the endzone sides of the Rose Bowl. 

College Football Playoff 2023 tickets

The Rose Bowl 2023 between the University of Utah and Penn State was scheduled for Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, in Pasadena, California, with a 3 p.m. MST kickoff. Rose Bowl ticket prices on Ticketmaster were priced at $165 (plus fees) and could have easily exceeded $1,000 per ticket, varying based on seat location.

The most affordable seats available were behind the end zones, with prices ranging from $165 to $250, particularly at the top of the stadium. In contrast, the priciest seats, situated along the sideline at the field’s center, surpass $400 per ticket, even in the last row. The difference in pricing is attributed to the improved view and the fact that seats in the center have backs, while those behind the end zones are on backless benches, as indicated by the University of Utah’s ticket site.
