As Robert Livingston enters the chat as a defensive coordinator for the Colorado Buffaloes football team, will the struggles end now for Colorado’s talented QB Shedeur Sanders? Well, presumptions point out that yes, they will. Deion Sanders brought in Robert from the Cincinnati Bengals, where he was a secondary coach for 12 years. Not to mention,  he comes with one-of-a-kind experience that Colorado desperately needs.

A serious issue that needed to be dealt with was a defense in Colorado that had allowed an average of 34.8 points per game in 2023. Robert seems to be the person to bring in his defense expertise and teach Colorado how to deal with this. Especially ‘Protect Shedeur Sanders’ this season. Let us see what Robert can bring in for Colorado this season, with high expectations from Deion.

On 7th July, SkoBuffsDaily tweeted praising Robert Livingston for his impressive skills. The tweet no doubt informed the audience about Robert’s capabilities, stating, “He’s a young, up-and-coming coach who’s ready to make his mark in the college football world.” Not just that the fact that Robert holds an experience with the NFL, puts him in the front of all when it comes to defense knowledge that he has bagged during all these years. Also, the fact that Robert is a disciple of Lou Anarumo whose career has focused primarily on developing defensive strategies and techniques to optimize team performance tells us the kind of expertise he would have while giving defense training to Colorado this season. Pro Football Focus ranked Anarumo as the No. 2 defensive coordinator in the league entering 2023. Anarumo is known for his flexible defensive schemes that adapt to different opponents. Livingston can use this versatile package, allowing the defense to adjust quickly to various offensive styles.

Colorado is all set to learn from Robert, even the most stacked QB player of last year, Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur suffered 52 stacks, which is a very high number of stacks. Deion, the Buffs’ head coach during the June 24th episode of The Joel Klatt Show, emphasized the critical need to protect Shedeur on the field this season as all they are aiming at is for a bounce-back this season. Talking about the setbacks that Colorado had to face last season losing by 4-8, Deion during the interview said, “We knew darn well the ball’s gonna be in Shedeur’s hands.” Coach Prime recognized the urgent need for a stronger offensive line and a need for a defense coordinator for the team. That brings Robert Livingston into the picture.

Expectations for Shedeur Sanders include further development in his passing accuracy, decision-making under pressure, and leadership on the field. And all of this would be taken care of by Robert.

Shedeur Sanders will have to carry the load for the Colorado football program again in 2024 under the guidance of the rising star defensive coordinator Robert Livingston from the Cincinnati Bengals. Let’s see where it all goes for Colorado this year, with lots of strategies put into work.
