Monte Kiffin, the legendary defensive coordinator, lived a life worth celebrating. He had a long life (84 years!), and everyone remembers how exceptional he was in the football world.
The latest heartwarming gesture comes from Lane’s sister-in-law, Angela Timmins Kiffin. Married to Lane’s brother Chris, Angela shared a beautiful montage of Monte’s life, filled with family moments and career highlights. The video featured Dylan Scott’s Good Times Go By Too Fast, perfectly capturing the bittersweet emotions. Angela wrote, “RIP Pops I’m forever thankful for a wonderful father in law, grandpa to our kids, and the best dad to the man I love. We will always try to Live Like Pops….with his infectious laugh, the best work ethic, fun spirit, giving heart, kind to all, and huge smile. Xo.” Lane simply reposted it on his X handle with a “wow” followed by hearts.

Knox Kiffin, a talented quarterback prospect in the Class of 2028, recently had a touching tribute to the Ole Miss team. They mentioned how Knox said his grandad is “free of pain and smiling down on us from above.” Sounds like a wise young athlete is in the making! Even Lane’s daughters, Presley and Landry Kiffin, shared the Rebels’ condolences on social media. While Presley’s path isn’t in football, she’s still impacting sports by playing volleyball for the USC Trojans. Soon after Monte died, she posted a heartfelt message saying, “Hardest goodbye I love you.”
Beyond the family, Coach Prime himself offered his condolences. He posted, “God bless the Kiffin family, friends and Loved ones. Praying for u,” tagging Lane Kiffin. Lane often talks about wanting to build stronger relationships with fellow coaches, just like his dad. It seems the proud son is just like his father.
