Amid the ongoing beef between Deion and Finebaum, here’s a look at the 3 times when the ESPN personality took jabs at Coach Prime and his team in the past. Things are certainly heated between the two and it looked like Deion had his share of all the shots when he called Finebaum out over his “celebrity” comments.

Paul Finebaum made an appearance on the McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning show and had fiery comments to make about the Colorado head coach and his celebrity status. He said, “I don’t consider him a great coach at all. He’s a Hollywood-created celebrity primarily because of what he did in other walks of life, namely playing football.” Deion issued a response of his own where he embraced his flaws and seemingly accepted himself and said, “A flawed u is better than being the lie you’re pretending to be.” Finebaum has been on Deion’s case ever since the start of the 2023 season and here’s a look at his jabs.

We took a look at 3 clips from the Matt Barrie show where Finebaum was called on as a guest. On the September 4 episode, Finebaum called out the Colorado Buffaloes’ iconic win against TCU in Week 1 and said that Deion doesn’t deserve all the credit. He added, “Deion Sanders in Colorado wasn’t the key to this game. It was just accepting the fact that whenever TCU has the stage to itself, they embarrass themselves.” Thus, Finebaum credited their win to TCU’s incompetence rather than the talent of the Buffs.

Next, on the 16th October episode, right after the game between the Stanford Cardinal and the Buffaloes where the Cardinals defeated the Buffs in a seemingly impossible 46-43 in a double overtime. Finebaum didn’t hold back on his scathing criticism of Deion Sanders. He outrightly said, “The biggest loser of the weekend was Deion Sanders, no question. That was inexcusable and you know, his party is over.” Finebaum certainly has strong feelings when he talks about Deion and it has been made pretty clear in the words he has to say about the Colorado HC.

Lastly, the Colorado Buffaloes were beaten by the Oregon Ducks in September, which also had some stern words from the sports enthusiast. Finebuam’s exact words were, “Beating TCU got way too much credit. It was just the attention. It was a Nova in the sky and we all we all jumped in.” Finebaum’s harsh feelings for Deion were highlighted a lot more when during his comments about his “celebrity” status, he bent his knee and admitted being guilty of being a part of the Coach Prime hype.

The world of college football was in a state of shock when Paul Finebaum threw out his no-holds-barred opinion on Deion and his so-called “success”. He termed him an “industry-created coaching celebrity” and went on to spew some more fire on Deion’s name and reputation.

In his attack on Sanders, Finebaum said that Colorado never beat a strong contender and was just being palatalized for their hype. He then proceeded to say, “By the way, I’m guilty. I was on those shows as you were.” The unprovoked attacks on Deion are certainly making the headlines but even though the HC has made his peace with the stains on his credibility, he will surely want to prove Finebaum wrong when the Buffs step onto the field this season.
