It is truly a dark day for football as they witnessed two talented brothers being subjected to a shooting, and while one of them tragically passed away, the other is fighting for his life. The Auburn Tigers and the rest of the NCAA community are joining hands for the recovery of Brian Battie and condolences for his brother.

Brian Battie, the running back for the Auburn Tigers, was injured during a fatal shooting in his hometown, Sarasota, Florida. Moreover, during the course of the fatal shooting, Battie and four others were sent to the hospital due to their critical conditions. We’re all wishing well upon the Battie family during this tough time of their life and wish them all the strength towards a better tomorrow.

The NCAA world is in shambles over the sad news of the Battie brothers

The news of the revolting incident hit the papers on the morning of Saturday, 18th May. Unfortunately, Tommie Battie, 24 years old, was pronounced dead at the sight because of the severity of the injury. Additionally, even though Brian is hospitalized, the fans are all coming together to wish for his speedy recovery.

“Rest in peace young one,” is what was written by one among the thousands of supporters of the Battie family. Though there are no official updates on Brian’s health, a spokesperson from Auburn said, “We are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather information.” With all that said, here’s a look at all the fans who have penned down heartfelt messages for the RB and his now-deceased brother.

Brian Battie holds a special place among the hearts of the Tigers’ fans. He came to Auburn after the 2022 season and recorded over 227 yards and a touchdown during his time. Two years later, he’s one of the many victims of an abhorrent crime. But wherever he is, he might just find solace in the soft words all his loved ones are posting on social media.
