Bold boots, a trusty hat, and a good leather belt- that’s everything Travis Hunter loves. The Colorado star was recently seen in a new style and even Deion Sanders was forced to give a nod of approval. But who else was impressed? Cam Newton, for sure, was.

The Buffs athlete was seen in a rodeo-themed outfit on Instagram and he even struck cowboy poses. And when Newton saw this, he couldn’t stop from sharing his thoughts. On his YouTube channel, he said, “He embracing the what they say when Rome do as Romans do. He went to Boulder Colorado. Yeah, you know some folks that wearing some big hats out there, real cowboys, you know what I’m saying, real Cattleman. It’s cool. I like the boots. Got the Wranglers on big buckle, you feel me?”

If Newton loves it, it has to be a good fit, right? After all, he is a flamboyant dresser himself. In fact, he is quite well-known for his affinity toward hats and they have a fanbase of their own.

But his belief in Hunter goes beyond just style. While Newton wasn’t buying into Shedeur Sanders’s hype, he has hopped onto Hunter’s hype train. He believes the WR has the potential to be the No. 1 overall pick and also a future Hall-of-Famer post his NFL career. He went to the extent of comparing Hunter to Tyreek Hill and Jalen Ramsey.

“We’ve never seen that happen, and will he play both ways in the NFL? It’s hard to cover a guy like Tyreek Hill and then turn around and get covered by a Jalen Ramsey… Go on and get measured. Get measured for your jacket. Go on and get measured for your gold jacket.”

But coming back to Hunter’s outfit, what did Coach Prime think about WR’s fit? He was thoroughly impressed as he commented, “Clean” under Hunter’s post. Similarly, Hunter’s fiancee too was impressed. “My little country boy,” she wrote under his post.

However, what was the inspiration behind Hunter’s cowboy look? It seems the PBR World Championship influenced him in many ways. He attended the event twice and people can surely see a difference in his style. During the PBR World Championship, not only did he show up in style, but he surprised John Crimber, the bull-riding star, who also ranked 2nd in the world.

Travis Hunter and John Crimber are not a crossover that fans knew they needed. But while attending the world championship, Hunter snuck up behind Crimber to surprise him. Hunter got up behind Crimber in the middle of a CBS Sports interview.

In a wholesome reaction, Crimber, 18, exclaimed, “Dude! What’s up?” While he was initially surprised by Hunter’s presence, he continued, “This is my favorite college player of all time.”

Travis Hunter wished Crimber good luck! After starting 0-for-2, the rodeo star won the next two rounds with Colorado Buffaloes’ WR in attendance. In fact, he even celebrated by flashing the pose of the Heisman Trophy- an award given to the best player in college football and Hunter may have a chance to win it in 2024.

Later, in an interview, the 18-year-old described what it felt like to meet Hunter. “I was like, ‘Holy cr*p. He is here watching. That’s awesome… That guy right there, let me tell you. I’ve always watched him on TV and stuff, and I like watching his highlights. He just fires me up. So I was really excited.”

“That really fired me up, and I told him I was going to do the Heisman for him, because I think he’s going to win the Heisman… So that was really awesome, just for him being here,” Crimber stated. Clearly, Hunter is making a lot of noise.
