Deion Sanders, coach for the Colorado Buffs, recently reminisced about his late cousin. The 56-year-old coach has single-handedly managed to change the value of the Colorado Buffaloes and he’s only just begun. The fallen rapper wasn’t just a key player in Prime Time’s life, he even convinced Shedeur to play for his father at Jackson State! During the latest Buffs match, Sanders paid a sweet tribute to Young Dolph’s son.

Young Dolph, was one of Memphis’ greatest rappers. He passed away in November of 2021 after a shocking assassination, leaving the entire community of rap music shocked. In tribute to the rapper, Deion Sanders made a sweet gesture to young Tre Tre Thornton before the match between Colorado and Stanford.

The Colorado Buffaloes faced off against the Stanford Cardinals this past weekend and Coach Prime made sure that Young Dolph’s son Tre Tre was in attendance for the match. He could be seen talking to the 9-year-old as he brought him down onto the field and exchanged his sunglasses with Tre’s eyeglasses. Though the fans weren’t too happy with the Colorado Buffaloes’ performance during the match, both the teams’ fans stood in solidarity with Coach Prime for the honorable moment to pay tribute to the ‘King of Memphis’ rapper.

Young Dolph had a massive impact on the community and thus, the hearts of the fans were aching as they stood up in solidarity with Sanders. The fans took to Twitter and voiced their condolences as they remembered their favorite rapper. A fan sadly wrote, “MAN RIP 🐬 😢.”

Another user commented, “God Bless those who continue to be a positive influence on our youth 🙏🏾”

This fan quoted the lyrics of a Young Dolph song which mentioned Coach Prime by writing “Gold chain, gold glasses, primetime like Deion.”

Another user wrote, “King of Memphis 👑.”

Lastly, this fan summed up all our feelings by saying, “Damn this just made me miss dolph 💯”

Young Dolph was only 36 years old when he met with his cruel assassination. He was the victim of a shooting in his hometown Memphis when he was brutally shot 22 times, according to the autopsy. Dolph has 2 platinum albums to his name and over 19 total albums throughout his career.

Dolph’s debut studio album, King of Memphis, ranked at number 49 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2016. Despite passing away at a young age, Dolph left behind a promising legacy through his songs and lyrics that will live on until the end of rap.

The state of Memphis still aches for the loss of one of its beloved crown jewels as it’ll soon be 2 years since his tragic assassination. Rest in peace, the King of Memphis.
