It is a sad day for football fans. News has made its way towards Sherrone Moore and Co. in Michigan. The team’s defensive end, Craig Roh passed away on Wednesday after fighting colon cancer at the age of 33 after a battle of 18 months.

Roh’s wife, Chelsea wrote an emotional statement on Instagram saying, “I wanted to let all of his followers know that after an 18-month battle with Stage IV colon cancer, God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th.” As the world mourns the death of the Michigan star, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore joins forces to share his condolences.

Head coach Sherrone Moore, deeply saddened by the news, took to Twitter to share his condolences. “I am saddened to hear about the passing of former defensive end Craig Roh. My heart goes out to his family during this difficult time. The entire Roh family is in my thoughts and prayers and we hope for peace and comfort for all who knew this great Wolverine,” Moore tweeted.

Roh committed to Michigan in 2008 as he was ranked the No. 7 defensive end and the No. 67 overall recruit in the nation during that year. Featuring in 12 games as a true freshman in the 2009 season, he not only recorded 37 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss to go with two sacks but also became the all-time leader in career starts of the program. Fans across the world join in the mourning of an ionic player.

The floodgates of emotions were set free as fans grieved over the loss of Craig Roh. They reminisced how much of an iconic Wolverine he was, as he finished off his career at Michigan in style with 50 combined tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks.

Following the conclusion of his Michigan career, Roh signed with the Carolina Panthers before moving toward the Canadian football league. There too, Roh left a mark by winning the Grey Cup with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019.

Moreover, his coaching gigs are also fond memories that fans cherish of the Michigan alum. Since he retired, Roh had focused on the D-Line University’s online course that taught young aspiring defensive linemen the tactics they need for on-gridiron excellence. Fans hugely appreciated Roh’s work on social media, garnering him over 60,000 followers on X. Hence, the coaching videos have also become a fond memory for fans, something that they will truly miss.
