Deion Sanders has been able to look at the bright side of things despite going through the amputation of two of his toes. Last year, as he went to get a pedicure with his son, he hilariously questioned, “I’ve got eight toes. Do I get a discount?” He displayed the same positive attitude when he appeared on Good Morning America, and his antics left co-host Michael Strahan with a smile on his face.

Sanders has had to deal with a life-threatening condition of having three blood clots in his leg. In order to avoid amputation of his foot, he had his two toes amputated in 2022. But Sanders is always keen to show that nothing can keep him down and that he loves to fight back.

Appearing on GMA on 19 June, Sanders talked about his journey toward better health and shared his lifelong fight against generational blood clotting. When co-host Strahan asked Sanders about his struggles, the Buffs HC put up his dismembered foot on camera for everyone to see and said, “You mean this, with eight toes?” This prompted Strachan to interrupt and say, “Oh, let’s not do that. This is morning TV. People are eating breakfast.”

However, not being one to shy away from cameras, Coach Prime replied, “I am proud of my amputation. I’m not shy about what transpired. I am back, I am fighting back, baby.” This led to a laugh from all the hosts, including Strahan. In the interview, Sanders also mentioned that he has had 12 surgeries in the past few years to address blood clots in his legs.

Later, Sanders also shared his thoughts on Instagram while reflecting on his GMA interview. Thanking UC Health for giving him a second chance at life, he wrote, “Thank u thank u THANK U to @uchеalth thе еntirе mеdical tеam and staff for kееping mе in my PRIME. Without y’all, none of this would be possible. I am truly BLESSED for all that y’all do for me,” in a heartfelt caption.

Coach Prime’s antics on the show brought out a laugh from Strahan, who is undergoing a tough time as he supports his daughter Isabella in her battle against cancer. She was diagnosed with a large medulloblastoma, a type of malignant tumor, in her cerebellum in October 2023.

After having brain surgery in October, she underwent rehabilitation, followed by six weeks of radiation treatment, and began chemotherapy in February. Just a few days before Sanders’ appearance on GMA, Strachan shared a major update on Isabella’s fight against cancer.

Michael Strahan proud of “Superwoman” daughter  as she completes chemotherapy

Michael Strahan took to Instagram on Sunday, June 16, to share a heartfelt video detailing his daughter Isabella’s courageous fight against cancer. The 19-year-old has been undergoing treatment and recently reached a significant milestone in her journey with her father by her side to capture the moment.

In the video posted by the Good Morning America co-host, Isabella is seen walking through a hospital corridor wearing a crown on her head and sporting a broad smile. As the video continues, Isabella can be seen approaching a bell mounted on the wall and ringing it triumphantly—an act that symbolizes the conclusion of her chemotherapy treatment.

“A SUPERWOMAN!” Strahan proudly declared in the caption of his Instagram post. “Ringing that bell and finishing chemo, on your way!” Lauding his daughter’s brave approach and determination to fight the disease courageously, Strahan further added, “I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella.”

Family members and the hospital staff celebrated her journey with a confetti-filled celebration at the hospital. Isabella also posted pictures of her cancer journey on Instagram, even as she celebrated the milestone, writing, “After the wildest 8 months, I finally got to ring the bell. Grateful for my journey 🩶.
