Have you ever wondered whether Deion Sanders still has an affinity for baseball? The legendary two-sports player had a unique contract arrangement that enabled him to play both in the NFL and MLB simultaneously. His baseball career began by the time he joined the Atlanta Falcons in 1989.

Deion Sanders played baseball for nine years for teams like the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and San Francisco Giants, till 2001. He’s the only athlete to appear in both a Super Bowl and World Series! But even after over two decades later since quitting baseball, he still holds fresh regret.

Thee Pregame Show Network on YouTube took fans behind the scenes of Day 6 of Colorado fall camp on August 3. One particular scene from the video delved into the mind of the Buffs HC on how he felt about leaving baseball behind. He said, “That’s my one regret… I still, to this day, have baseball dreams like when I sleep, I wake up, performing and I’m doing it, like dang! I should have gave all to that.”

Talk about passion and spirit! See how far his affinity for the game goes.

Deion Sanders talks about baseball

When Deion Sanders appeared for an interview with Shannon Sharpe on CLUB SHAY SHAY last September, he explained that baseball was the harder sport. But he still chose the sport, saying, “I love challenges, and I could not master it. It frustrated me because I hate to lose, and I hate not mastering something that I know if I just had more time I could.” Still, during his baseball career, Prime Time batted 2,123 times, recording an average of 0.263, 39 home runs, and 168 RBI.

A recent instance of him enjoying the sport was during the MLB All-Star event at Globe Life Field in Arlington on July 14. He was filmed grinning as he threw and caught. He also tried to coach Rob Gronkowski’s GF Camille Kostek and other girls on batting, but his amputated toes got in the way of having fun. Still, it’s clear from these instances that Coach Prime still has a burning passion for baseball.
