If you’re a college football fan in the slightest, then no doubt, you must have heard about the name of Deion Sanders or, as fans like to call him, Coach Prime. The influence of Coach Prime spreads far and wide, so much that he’s almost become a protected figure by his die-hard fans. Only a few weeks ago, Deion was being termed as a “bully” of the college football world and today, his massive fanbase is taking the hits.

Deion Sanders arrived in Boulder in 2023 to take up the head coach job for the Colorado Buffaloes. Because of his influence and the huge number of Coach Prime fanatics, the Buffaloes made over $45 million, all thanks to Deion. This shows how a poor record of 4-8 doesn’t seem to matter at the end of the day when the name of Coach Prime is concerned. Now, Matt McChesney is calling these fans out for being worse than Taylor Swift fans, who are known for their protective measures in the extremes for the global pop star.

“Prime-se*als”, as former guard Matt McChesney says, are the fans who care more about Coach Prime than the Colorado Buffaloes itself. On the 5th June episode of the Coach JB Show with Big Smitty, McChesney came on to talk about the ardent followers of Coach Prime who continue to support him and the program, whatever the circumstances.

As per McChesney, football is a sport that involves criticism at every turn. Whether it be positive or negative, is of little concern since players and coaches can always strive to be better. But with the sort of aura that has formed around Deion Sanders, it looks like there’s nothing negative that can be said about him without his fan following trying to attack one’s own entitled opinion.

So there’s a difference here between Colorado supporters and the Prime s*xuals. The Prime s*xuals are weird. I’ve literally never in my life seen anybody that has this kind of effect on grown men. This is like, some Taylor Swift shit. The Prime s*xuals are like swifties, dawg. You say anything about Coach Prime and they’re on you.” This is what McChesney had to say about the gravity of the situation and compared the Prime se*uals to Taylor Swift fans, in an aim to conclude how unsettling the entire dynamic between Coach Prime and his fans’ are.

With that being said, this isn’t the first time that Deion is being compared to the likes of Taylor Swift since the former Pac-12 commissioner did it when the HC signed on with the Buffaloes back in 2023.

The former commissioner of the Pac-12, George Kliavkoff, spoke highly of Deion Sanders when he was first announced to be coming to Boulder as the newest HC. In an interview with USA Today, Kliavkoff talked about the major increase in ratings for the league that occurred solely because of Coach Prime.

Moreover, Kliavkoff referred to Deion as the Beyonce or Taylor Swift of the college football world when he said, “I think if Beyonce or Taylor Swift decided to coach, they might glean the kind of media coverage we’re getting from Deion.” Thus, the Buffaloes have greatly benefited from Deion since his popularity led to a total of $45 million being generated in terms of ticket sales and media revenue. But is Coach Prime’s golden image suppressing the voice of the fans who are in fear of the Prime-se*uals that lurk below? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
