Deion Sanders’ weekend of fun and team bonding with the Buffaloes players at their camp has now stopped. While enjoying the activities and fresh air, Deion was hit with tragic news on Saturday that actor Johnny Wactor was shot and killed in Los Angeles.

Wactor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on General Hospital, was only 37 years old when he was allegedly killed during a carjacking. Reports indicate Wactor and a colleague witnessed three men tampering with his car, likely targeting the catalytic converter — a valuable part increasingly stolen in LA’s black market. But the situation took a horrific turn when Wactor tried to negotiate with the thieves. Also, according to Wactor’s mother, Scarlett, “her son didn’t try to stop them but they shot and killed him anyway.” Despite being rushed to the hospital, Wactor was “pronounced dead” shortly after 3 am.

Soon after the news broke, Collin Ruggs shared it with videos of Wactor from the ABC series on his X platform. The internet community responded to it with an outpouring of condolences. And, visibly shaken by the tragic news, Deion Sanders reposted it with a heartfelt message: “Wow! Praying for this family, friends, loved ones, as well as his fans. Wow!”

Meanwhile, Wactor’s General Hospital colleagues took to social media to mourn their friend. Parry Shen, who plays Brad Cooper, called Wactor “a beautiful, beautiful soul and added his mourning, stating, “We all were cheated of many years with him. Resonating the feeling, another cast member, Jon Lindstrom, shared his grief, saying, “I’m literally sick to my stomach at this news. While Wactor’s life was tragically cut short, it looks like his memory lives on in the hearts of his colleagues and fans, who continue to offer their prayers.
