Shedeur Sanders finally opened up on his NCAA rating — but to a young fan. The star quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes had a great time engaging with children at the CU Football Youth Camp on June 11. This event was designed to encourage physical activity among kids, particularly those in Grades 3-8, by providing training sessions with the Buffaloes players.
The day was filled with fun moments, with kids getting photos and autographs from Shedeur. However, one kid even playfully teased Shedeur, leading to a hilarious exchange.
A video by Well Off Media captured a funny encounter where the kid, in a playful jab, questioned Shedeur’s position as the top-rated quarterback in the NCAA. Shedeur, ever the good sport, playfully responded, “He just said I ain’t the highest rated on NCAA. Yeah, you did!” The kid shook his head, affirming the statement, and added, “No, I said that, remember!”

Their playful banter continued with Shedeur jokingly stating, “So you say I’m not, but I’m telling you I am. So you believe me or don’t believe?” The kid disagreed again with a small shake of his head. But Shedeur kept things light by shutting down the playful challenge about his NCAA ratings.

While this is a lighthearted moment, it is likely to pique interest in Shedeur’s potential ranking for the upcoming season. Analysts have taken note of Shedeur’s impressive stats: 27 touchdowns and 3,230 passing yards. However, the competition for the top spot is expected to be intense, and other players may still pose a threat.
Shedeur Sanders makes it to the Top 10 QBs in NCAA
Most ranking predictions place Shedeur Sanders at around 90 points, positioning him within the Top 5 quarterbacks nationally. 247Sports even ranks him at No. 2, just behind Georgia’s Carson Beck. He is also considered the top quarterback in the Big 12 conference, according to 247Sports. However, there are some discrepancies as well.

In the PFF College rankings, Shedeur is ranked second in the Big 12 with a rating of 88.2, just behind West Virginia’s Garrett Greene who scored 90.0. It’s worth noting that Shedeur has a higher completion rate (70%) compared to Greene (53%). However, PFF seems to be impressed by the dimension that Greene brings to West Virginia’s offense.
ESPN also included Shedeur in their Top 10 list but at No. 8 with only 33 points. (Beck leads the pack with 89 points). Despite these variations, the overall sentiment is clear: Shedeur Sanders is a top contender for the season and potentially a Heisman hopeful. With Big 12 games approaching, all eyes will be on him to see if he can live up to the hype and claim the top quarterback spot soon.
