The big news coming out from the center is that the current Ohio State HC could switch sides. There’s an opportunity available at Texas A&M University and as per reports, Ryan Day might be eyeing that role. Weeks after Deion Sanders denied the position, the baton is now passed to the Ohio HC. However, these are still rumors, with no conclusive evidence behind them.

However given the experience and success Day has had at Ohio State, he might not go forth with the decision. But the current state of affairs reflects otherwise, Ryan is certainly facing some heat as he needs to deliver the victories for his side. In the upcoming matchup of the Buckeyes clashing against Michigan, Ryan’s men need to deliver the goods. Having already lost two consecutive games, the third loss would mean curtains on Day’s role at Ohio State. Nothing to be alarmed about for Day, as he already got an offer from A&M Texas University.

What does it mean to be an A&M University head coach?

The A&M University HC position offers a safety cushion and a great reputation. Being in the SEC and with solid financial backing, anyone would love to take the HC role. It’s rather easy to garner success in College Station. This makes up for a prestigious role at the University and could give a different trajectory to Ryan Day’s career. A role with the university could mean a better salary package and even more exposure to work with talented players. Having already cemented his place as a successful coach in the NCAA, the transition would be great to witness.

But amidst the smoke linking about the prospects of joining the team, it could just be a mere speculation. This could be as per another reporter, just some agent cooking up stuff and hearsay. While the news seems to be still on the lines of a rumor, it could mean a terrific opportunity for Ryan Day.

What makes Ryan Day a successful coach?

Ryan Day is a terrific coach and has created quite a legacy for himself throughout the years. He’s had quite a remarkable career thus far. Day’s records speak for themselves as he has 51 wins with just six losses in his illustrious role. Given his unwavering success and the X-factor he brings to the side with his strategies, Day is one of the highest-paid coaches in the Big 10 conference.

Ryan reportedly is earning a whopping $10.2 million this season alone! This includes $2 million in base pay and millions for other promotional services. His results and absolute clarity of thought yield success for his team. Moreover, Ryan Day is under a five-year contract period extending till 2028. He now faces a conundrum to replace the axed Texas A&M HC Jimbo Fisher.

Jimbo Fisher’s hefty axing from the A&M University

The now-axed HC Jimbo Fisher became the only coach in history to be provided a record $77 million dollars upon leaving. Let that sink in $77 million! Fisher’s record resonates with the work he has done throughout his tenure at the helm, however, they’re not as per the requirements.

With the huge standards that the side has set up, it’s almost impossible for the HC to continue with the current strategies. Fisher would be receiving $19 million in the next two months and an annual check of 7.3 million dollars every year since 2031. There’s a humongous amount of money involved in the scheme of things and the university might just go a bit higher when they target the subsequent coach.

My perspective on Ryan Day moving to Texas A&M University

In my opinion, the Texas A&M role would be a lucrative one for Ryan Day. However, currently, there have been no money-driven decisions in Ohio State’s HC career thus far. I think it needs to be seen whether his loyalty will stick with Ohio State or if will he move to some lushier pastures.

There lies a big assignment in between the switch. I believe that Ryan needs to prove himself, his caliber, and his temperament in the summit clash against the Michigan Wolverines. He needs to step up on the big stage and come out victorious. Now, there’s some pressure on Ryan, since he’s already lost twice to the same opposition previously.

I reckon that there’s a thorn in the HC’s career as he’d be looking to walk out with a win. If he loses or ties the game, then he should be on his way to the Texas A&M University role that promises a significant career shift. Yes, true that the outside chatter currently says the opposite, but who knows what might happen as the HC is unable to churn out a victory. Maybe Ryan heads to Texas, or there’s a possibility that the Ohio management stick with the current HC?
