Despite Coach Prime’s work in Colorado, naysayers like to pounce on anything that targets the Buffs HC. With his sons Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter all entering the NFL next year, it has given them a platform to slander his name.

Rumors have come up that Coach Prime wouldn’t last in Colorado. According to what CFB on Fox analyst RJ Young said, “Coach Prime got no reason to stay at Colorado once Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are gone to the NFL.” But is this really what Deion Sanders has in mind?

In his interview with Colin Herd on The Herd on YouTube, former Buffs QB and current Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt drops a strong statement on Coach Prime. After sharing his thoughts on how Colorado could become a Big 12 championship contender this season, he dropped a reality check. He said, “People don’t like Deion Sanders. Deion Sanders is working at Colorado and I think that the play on the field this year is going to be pleasantly surprising for everybody… That’s what I believe is going to happen.”

When Deion Sanders arrived in Colorado, the Buffs were a dying program nursing from their depressing 1-11 season record. While the 4-8 record isn’t something to boast about, his offseason effort has shown that he’s ready to show that the Buffs can triumph over criticism. While we don’t know how this season will end, another bigger question looms — Will Coach Prime stay or leave?

Deion Sanders has expressed his desire to stay in Colorado despite rumors that he could be leaving. He previously said on Nightcap, “Colorado has provided everything I need, man, I’m having the time of my life. I love Boulder, Colorado.” He has even envisioned his head carved into one of the Flatirons on the mountains and has a home in Boulder which was gifted to him by his sons.

Coach Prime has also lashed back at critics who believe he might follow his sons to the NFL saying, “A real father guides his sons, he doesn’t follow them. So I’m good, I’ll be here. I ain’t going nowhere.” And for those who think he might run off to find and lead a more successful program, he said, “I’m not the kind of guy that’s gonna run off to somebody else’s school and inherit an already-winning team.” With all the hope that is placed on him by Colorado fans and his determined attitude, it’s not likely that he’ll sway with the wind.
