Is Jalen Milroe the answer to Alabama's problems, or just another overhyped prospect?

In 2023, after a challenging start, the Alabama QB finished that season with impressive passing and rushing stats. Despite receiving Heisman votes, the quarterback could not alleviate Alabama’s struggle against Texas. In that scenario, there was a noise about the QB position at Alabama Crimson Tide.

Recently, Paul Finebaun guessed that the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs would compete in the 2024 SEC Championship Game. While we have to wait and see that, he’s made yet another prediction and this time it is about Alabama’s quarterback situation.

Moreover, Paul stated, ” The major problem of Alabama is not Jalen Milroe, it’s the defense,”. Hence, it is obvious that Milroe’s decision to stick with might be beneficial for the team to play potentially the national championship. “I don’t understand what Tommy Rees, the offensive coordinator, is doing,” Paul said, describing the confusing move of Crimson Tide. Additionally, he continued, “He made plenty of mistakes against Texas, but he has talent. He can run the ball, he can make big plays,” praising Milroe’s talent. Conversely, till now Alabama is not sure about their decision, and Nick Saban, Alabama HC, stated “Evaluate Jalen Milroe in terms of how he played and decide this week, who gives us the best opportunity to be successful as an offensive team. And that’s the way we’ll go”. Hence, the time will reveal the result. Let me tell you that why Milroe can be the right choice for Alabama.

Starting from Tompkins, Milore earned one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation and a consensus four-star prospect. After that, in 2021, he gained reps under the center, working in four games. Then the star QB returned to serve the Crimson Tide’ for his second season as a backup quarterback in 2022. In 2023, Milroe was selected as one of the Crimson Tide’s permanent team captains. Along with that, he earned second-team All-SEC recognition from the Associated Press.

The quarterback has a reputation for his skill and uniqueness. Keldric Faulk, Alabama defensive lineman, even confirmed this, saying, “He can do it all, He can use his feet, he’s physical.” Faulk continued, “He’s built differently. He doesn’t look like an average quarterback. Playing against him was similar to playing Jayden Daniels”. So, you can imagine the potential of the talented QB. The focus now is on what Milroe can bring to Alabama in the 2024 championship.
