Shedeur Sanders may have found his replacement for the 2025 season, but it’s still too early to jump to conclusions. However, recent unfoldings have boosted fans’ expectations, as Julian Lewis spoke about his second visit to Colorado during the spring practice session. And, of course, many people are convinced that the 6’1 MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year could be interested in joining Coach Prime in Boulder.
Lewis is committed to USC, but he’s made it clear that he’s open to weighing his options before joining college football in 2025. As a 5-star prospect and No. 3 player out of Georgia, he’s already got other teams chasing his tail, including Alabama, Indiana, and Auburn. But what he said about Colorado is garnering all the attention right now.

Five-star QB Julian “Ju Ju” Lewis seems to be warming up to Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes. In a recent IG post by Noskozone, Colorado is garnering more attention after their second visit from the potential Shedeur Sanders replacement. The Carrollton HS star said, “Colorado has a lot of energy. Coach Prime is super positive and motivating. Talking to Coach Shurmur and Shedeur, they want me to make the best decision for me, but made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early.“
This is good news for Deion Sanders and the Buffs, as it is Julian Lewis’ second visit to Colorado. The Buffs’ spring football practice environment is nothing short of an intense, action-packed session filled with high energy, which struck a positive chord with the prospective QB. Shedeur Sanders will enter the NFL Draft in 2025, but according to Lewis’ statement, he might even get to start playing in 2024. Considering that this isn’t the first time he’s visited the Buffs, the chances of him landing here are slightly higher than other prospective teams.

Julian Lewis visits Colorado for the second time
Before the Buffs’ spring break kicked off on March 18, Julian Lewis and his father reportedly came to Colorado to meet Coach Prime over a strategic dinner. Not long after that, they returned for a second visit during spring practice. Lewis recently posted his visit to the Buffs’ training grounds on X by sharing a picture of his dad and Deion Sanders in conversation and captioning it, “Thanks for always caring about what’s best for me.”

While everything seems to point out the right way for the Buffs’ fans, destiny isn’t etched in the present. Since 2022, Coach Prime has locked 5-star players to his team, beginning with Travis Hunter in 2022, Cormani McClain in 2023, and Jordan Seaton in 2024. With Julian Lewis as a potential 5-star player in 2025, whether he will make or break the 5-star recruiting streak remains a mystery.
