Ohio State Stunned as QB Kyle McCord Shakes Things Up Before Season’s Closing Match

The 2023 regular college football season is coming to an end with the Army-Navy game this weekend. And while excitement still hangs in the air, the upcoming bowl games are going to be lit. But amid all this excitement, the transfer portal is becoming a thing and Ohio State Buckeyes QB Kyle McCord is shaking up as the season almost comes to a close. 

Kyle McCord accounted for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns in his last season with Ohio State. However, he feels his performance is still unsatisfactory as he enters the transfer portal. Now, he has the attention of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, among other programs, whose offensive coordinator is on the route to meet him. 

Kyle McCord set to meet Nebraska OC, Marcus Satterfield

Former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord is making a change to his home field. According to the latest reports, there could be a possibility that the transfer QB will end up at Nebraska. Currently, Nebraska offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield is on a flight to Columbus, Ohio, from Waco, Texas, to have a meeting with star prospect Kyle McCord.

The last season didn’t see the best performance from Nebraska, who finished with an overall record of 5-7. And with the team currently searching for a QB, Kyle McCord fits the bill perfectly. Since his entrance into the transfer portal on Monday, he has been one of the top QBs fought over by various college programs.

Kyle McCord joined Ohio State in 2021 but last season was the first time he played as the starting QB. In his first two seasons, he finished with only 58 passes as a backup for CJ Stroud. The presence of Kyle McCord at Nebraska could bring great changes to the program. Nebraska has struggled with QB development in their previous seasons. Given that McCord is a junior now, he could assist in molding Daniel Kaelin.
