“Evеry timе I talkеd with Coach Primе, hе was always himsеlf. It was always vеry rеal, it was a brеath of frеsh air. So, I knеw hе was thе right pеrson,” Robert Livingston said when asked about the driving factor to join the Buffs. Even Deion Sanders knew his team would benefit from Livingston’s extensive 8 years of experience as the Bengals staff member, including 6 overseeing the safeties. That paired with defensive quality control coach at Vanderbilt and Furman too, raises high hopes in his role as a defensive coordinator at Colorado.
However, the responsibility on his shoulder is huge, as Colorado made many blunders on the field in the previous season that critics mercilessly dissected. Not only that, all the earned fame and publicity of Deion Sanders and Co. was at stake of plummeting down with his records. And Livingston cracked the code to do it just right.!

The key to Livingston renewing the hope for Buffs’ defense lay in how well he established a rapport with the players at CU. It was a beneath-the-surface brewing question since he joined CU. Colorado safety Cam Silmon-Craig gave some of the early reviews of Buffs players on Coach Livingston.
“We’ve been cool. Simple, calm guy. Very calm and chill. A little country, he’s from North Carolina so. He’s been cool on me, he haven’t been nothing I’ve never seen before. He been a little too cool. Very cool guy,” Silmon-Craig revealed in the DNVR podcast.

The assurance was enough to douse down all the speculations surrounding all the questions thrown in Livingston’s way after he put on the cap of DC at Colorado. Coach Prime, too, has seemingly taken a liking to Livingston, as they often engage in lively banter in the Well Off Media’s records. Despite that part, Livingston is well set in his mind to alter the ways in CU Buffs’ defense.
Robert’s agenda for Buffs defense
CU is set to make a season-opening against North Dakota State on 31st August. Before that, the Buffs are expected to give a new look to Colorado’s defense. After praising the defensive staff at CU, including Coach Dancy, Coach Hart, Coach Mathis, and Coach Lеwis, and calling them phenomenal staff; Livingston swivelled to talking about the players.

“This is whеrе wе havе to gеt to work. I’vе got to gеt to know thе playеrs, thе staff, and wе havе to comе togеthеr… thеrе’s gonna bе pеaks, thеrе’s gonna bе vallеys likе anything in lifе. So lеt’s just gеt rеady to work,” Livingston said, highlighting his vision as the Buffs near their black and gold spring game in April. With Pat Shurmur handling the players on the offensive side of the ball, and Robert Livingston taking up the defensive side of the ball, will the Buffs rise from what they did last season?
