Shedeur Sanders is finally catching a break! After a rough stretch of being snubbed from the EA Sports College Football 25 cover and falling short of the top spot in early NFL mock drafts, the Buffs’ quarterback is seeing some sunshine.

EA Sports recently released their list of the 100 highest-rated NCAA players, and as guessed, Shedeur made the cut! He landed a tie for the top QB spot with a 93 overall rating, sharing the title with Georgia’s Carson Beck. Shedeur also snagged the 17th spot on the overall player list, with Beck following close behind at 18th. Other top recruits like Texas’ Quinn Ewers and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe followed them behind.

During Big 12 media day, Shedeur Sanders was asked about this feat. The QB gave a thumbs up for the positive ranking, acknowledging it with just “It’s cool.” His family even got in on the celebration, showing him love on social media by resharing his EA Sports achievement. But not everything was sunshine and rainbows for the QB.

Shedeur couldn’t hide his competitive spirit when it came to the tie with Beck. “I’m not really a tie guy,” he said. “It’s no such thing. A one B you know it’s either one or other. You’re either one or two…but I don’t know,” he added. Seems like a little friendly quarterback rivalry is brewing!

Now, despite leading the Buffs to only 4 wins last season, this ranking is sure a major win for Shedeur. Even though some might argue that wins are everything, many experts and analysts are still focusing on Shedeur’s individual talent. Some even believe he has the edge over Carson Beck.

Shedeur Sanders shines despite Buffs’ struggles

Despite leading the Buffaloes to a rough 4-8 season last year, Shedeur Sanders’ talent can’t be ignored. The QB racked up an impressive 27 touchdown passes and 3,230 passing yards last year. He even became one of the nation’s most sacked QBs with a whopping 52, all due to a shaky Buffs offensive line. But even under that pressure, Shedeur maintained around a 70% completion rate!

Now, this undeniable talent has experts taking notice. Even Big Tiger Media’s Patrick Torris believes Carson Beck’s high ranking in early mock drafts might be inflated by his team’s 13-1 success. “I think your team is so good, you get confused and you think your quarterback is good. Your team is just so much better than everybody y’all playing against. It makes him look good” Torris said. Beck, with the luxury of a strong offensive line, did manage to edge out Shedeur in passing yards (3,941) according to many mock drafts.

But the ‘Carson vs. Shedeur’ debate has not ended. The new EA Sports rankings just threw some fuel on the fire, but remember, Shedeur wants a clear winner, not a tie. Also, there won’t be any ties in next year’s NFL draft, so this season is their chance to prove who’s truly number one.
