The next hype in CFB town is undoubtedly the Rose Bowl. Two football giants, No. 1 Michigan Wolverines against the red-hot SEC champions, Alabama Crimson Tide. With the last 6 seasons being a big flop for Michigan in terms of postseason wins, the Pigskin Bowl seems in their court this season.
On the opponent’s end, Nick Saban and Co. come in with a fierce demeanor and even the dangerous experience of defeating teams in post-season games. However, for many, the spot isn’t well deserved for the Bamas as their conference was allegedly favored in playoffs, hence them being in the top 4 instead of the Florida State University. Just when the fans thought the reactions stopped coming in, JJ McCarthy surprised everyone with his two cents on FSU’s situation.

Ahead of the showdown, McCarthy engaged in a Rose Bowl media conference. In which, the inevitable FSU question was brought up. McCarthy’s initial reaction was to sympathize with the dejected team. “When that came out like all of us were just shocked that the committee kept Florida State out,” admitted McCarthy. However, what was even more shocking for the team to witness was Nick Saban’s prowess in treading through the familiar playoffs. “Seeing Nick saving the team in the playoff isn’t a joke. No not a joke at all,” asserted McCarthy.
Yet, the QB was equipped with an apt answer. “But you can understand where they were coming from. Especially with the way that Alabama was playing towards the end of the year,” McCarthy said to the media. Saban and Co. beat Georgia pretty brutally towards the conclusion of the season, a game that not only put status out there but also made the teams vary them. Yet McCarthy, being a true sportsperson, applauded the team for having such refined qualities.
