One of the most legendary football figures is ready to partner with one of our generation’s biggest sports brands. The news of the deal comes days after the Ohio State Buckeyes QB recently signed an endorsement deal with New Balance, one of the lesser-known shoe brands.

Deion Sanders, the head coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, and his influence is massive in the world of college football. Back in July 2023, Deion announced that he would join Nike on a multi-year partnership. Later, the HC for the Buffs revealed the DT’96, a training shoe sole based on React Foam. After Marvin Harrison Jr.’s deal with New Balance was announced, Nike has also decided to move forward in its relationship with Deion by hinting at the release of a new signature shoe.

On 24th April, Deon and Nike US posted a collaborative post on Instagram that caused the fans to go into a frenzy. Coach Prime introduced his popular Air Max ’96 Deion Sanders back in September 2023 and it looks like the shoe is going to make a comeback according to their recent teaser.

With the post captioned, “They ain’t ready @nike,” saw a picture of a car with the license plate containing the letters “DT MAX96 COLORADO PRIME.” This is enough confirmation for the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the new edition of the DT ’96 shoes for quite a long time. Though the events are not connected, it seems like a big coincidence that the collaboration is being announced just 2 days after Marvin Harrison’s deal with NB.

On April 23rd, the official account of New Balance announced their newest collaboration with the top WR in the 2024 NFL Draft. The company plans to launch its first-ever line of American Football Cleats, of which Marvin Harrison is going to be at the steering wheel. For his newest collaboration, this is what Harrison said he hopes it will impact the younger generation.

He added, “The values that New Balance and I share have aligned. Most importantly, the brand will allow me to have an impact on the community and the younger generation. I want to inspire young athletes to be great in their own way.”

Additionally, this is what the marketing executive of New Balance, Naveen Lokesh, had to say about the deal with Harrison. Lokesh said, “Marvin’s drive, passion, and incredible work ethic speak to the person that he is on and off the field. His dedication to everything he does will help us launch New Balance into the American Football category and push the boundaries of what athletes can do to inspire the next generation.”
