You’d expect nothing less than a sports fanatic from the Saban family, right? Nick Saban has turned out to be a daughter who’s just as obsessed with sports.

Kristen Saban is always cheering on her dad’s team, and she’s been equally enthusiastic about the ongoing Olympics. But it seems the sports bug has bitten the next generation, too. Remember Kristen’s adorable kid who ran onto the field to hug his grandad Saban during a Crimson Tide game last year? Well, that little guy turns out to be quite the athlete.

Kristen proudly showcased her son’s tennis skills on her August 2 Instagram story. The kid’s just four years old, and he’s already nailing perfect serves. She posted a video of him in action and Paul Brooks’ Olympic theme song.

While the little guy is busy mastering his backhand, Kristen can’t help but reflect on her own sporting dreams. She’s been a huge fan of the U.S. women’s rugby team and was thrilled when they won bronze at the Olympics. But there’s a hint of regret in her voice as she jokes, “I have a big bone to pick with my parents. Why was I not raised on rugby?…This is my sport.”

It’s a playful jab, but it also shows the passion for sports within the Saban family. While Kristen might not get to live out her rugby dream, she seems all set to ensure her son has every best opportunity to excel. While there’s still time for that, the sports-enthusiastic mom is giving her shout-out to the Olympic stars this season.

Nick Saban’s daughter is in a league of her own as a cheerleader

The Olympics have been a major highlight for Kristen Saban this summer. She’s been cheering on athletes, especially women who are breaking barriers. One of her favorite athletes is rugby star Ilona Maher. Maher is a talented player and a vocal advocate for body positivity. She recently shared a funny video of herself practicing her funny “run out” before a game, and Kristen couldn’t get enough of it. “Why is @ilonamaher my new favorite person on the internet,” she wrote.

Nick Saban’s daughter has also been a big fan of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team. But when former gymnast MyKayla Skinner criticized the team’s “lack of talent and work ethic,” fellow gymnast Simone Biles quickly defended her favorites. She reposted a collage of the team’s medals with the caption “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.” And to top it off, Kristen reposted it with the songThat’s My Girl” by Fifth Harmony in her Instagram story.

Kristen Saban will keep hyping all her favorites until this Olympic season ends.
