The skies are echoing a tone of silence and among it, will reside a star named Khyree Jackson. The man who was said to revel more in his teammates’ glory than his own, rests at peace today. Along with the thousands of Alabama supporters, Kristen Saban is joining hands in prayers to mourn the loss of Jackson, who has tragically breathed his last today.

Khyree Jackson, the rookie cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings was involved in a car accident that occurred in Prince George’s County. Moreover, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr., two former players who used to play with Jackson during his high school, were also sadly killed in the crash. As such, Kristen Saban expressed her grief over the news of the passing of the former CB for Alabama and wished well for his family.

On 6th July, Kristen Saban took to Instagram to share the heart-wrenching news of the passing of Khyree Jackson, who was a part of the Alabama Crimson Tide during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. It’s a dark day for the Jackson family who will struggle to cope in this period of crisis, but it is evident that the fans and the Saban family themselves are lending their full support to them.

Kristen Saban posted about the tragic news on her story that saw a picture of Khyree and the years, 1999-2024, written just below it. Additionally, The Alabama Recruits page also made a post about Khyree Jackson as a tribute and in the comments, Kristen wrote, “Damnit. Prayers for his family. ❤️” Jackson, who played for both seasons under the guidance of Nick Saban, has been forever lost to the world and is in a better place now. They say the sun never sets on heroes that lose their lives but I say that they surpass the light of the sun and become stars of grandeur themselves. From his time with the Oregon Ducks to the Alabama Crimson Tide and now, the Vikings, Jackson spread smiles and joy wherever he went and today, the world has lost one such charismatic personality. The Vikings poured out their hearts in order to pay their proper respects to the passing of Jackson.

The Vikings’ official Instagram page issued a statement which read, “We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson’s death following an overnight car accident. Our thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident. 💔💔💔” Later, the HC Kevin O’Connell also had endearing words for the CB’s untimely death and said, “I am absolutely crushed by this news,” said Minnesota’s head coach Kevin O’Connell. “Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him.”

Thus, both the worlds of the NFL and the NCAA will remember Jackson with each passing heartbeat today and more so than his football career, they will think of him for the type of person he was, which was just a gem, lost too soon.
