Is the criticism of Kristen Saban's post about her dad's milestone justified, or just plain ridiculous?

No matter who you are, a reality check is always due. This is the case of Kristen Saban, who wouldn’t have thought celebrating her father’s achievement would get her into trouble. On July 19, Kristen Saban took to Instagram to share how she had to take down her latest story on the social media platform — all because she got too carried away with the big news that the Bryant-Danning stadium will be named after Nick Saban.

Kristen was too early for the party, it seems. And she became a party pooper as the suspense was all over. However, the organizers could not prevent this from happening. Now that the cat is already out of the bag, there are some interesting facts for supporters about the stadium naming saga.

Kristen is the most loyal fan that the ex-Alabama HC could ever get. Even before the news about her Daddy Dear’s latest milestone was confirmed, she couldn’t contain her joy. The GOAT’s daughter re-shared a post on her story that read, “Per multiple reports, Alabama to name the field, ‘Nick Saban field at Bryant-Denny Stadium,’ to honor an Alabama great. The name change will take place during the USF game on September 7th.”

It was this post that fueled the drama. So much so that she was given an ultimatum to pull the story down. Kristen then talked about her experience in the following story (which later got deleted), where she addressed how it did not fit well with the organizers and that she became the news breaker. Instead, they only wanted to flash the news and wait for the right time. But nobody talks about how difficult it is to maintain secrecy when THE NICK SABAN’s milestone party is on the horizon.

One of the greatest honors in college football has been bestowed upon the coach in Alabama. Kristen couldn’t be prouder of the extraordinary legacy. She shared a video on Instagram, which emotionally honored Nick Saban, recapping his 17-season career in Alabama, likely evoking tears from fans.

The daughter posted the video with the caption, “Leave your legacy. On September 7, “Saban Field” will be introduced at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Beyond proud.” The first three words signify that Saban will be remembered for all he did for the program rather than his physical presence, as the stadium will engulf all who come under the HC’s legacy.

How the Crimson Tide pays tribute to Nick Saban’s legacy

What’s your perspective on:

Is the criticism of Kristen Saban's post about her dad's milestone justified, or just plain ridiculous?

Have an interesting take?

Alabama has whipped up something special for their most celebrated coach. As per the reports, all the board of trustees of Crimson Tide have been scheduled to come together for a meeting on Friday, July 19. But what’s the agenda? It goes as “consideration of resolution approving a naming at Bryant-Denny Stadium at UA.” While Nick’s shelf boasts back-to-back notable honors, there is no better feeling than seeing his name etched into a stadium.

Even though Nick called it off as the Alabama head coach back in January, his legendary career will continue to reign in the hearts of college football fans forever. Talk about an overachiever’s dream? Of course, it boasts the name of the ex-Crimson Tide head coach. Nick racked up a 292-71-1 record at four coaching stops and snagged seven national championships.

By winning six championships, Saban elevated the Alabama team to the second most successful franchise, with a total of 16 trophies. From 1973 to 2023, Nick Saban had a remarkable career that every Alabama fan will remember.

But out of all of this, his Alabama role with a 292-71-1 record now lands him on the Walk of Fame. No, not in Hollywood, but he will be the main man behind the rebranding of the playing surface of Bryant-Denny Stadium to “Nick Saban Field.”
