The horizon at Colorado has begun to undergo a discernible shift, with Deion Sanders standing witness to the erosion of his ambitious plans, replaced by an atmosphere of despair and disintegration. Irrespective of the team’s on-field performance, it remains evident that Prime Time is devoting substantial time and effort to resuscitate the Colorado program, harboring aspirations of turning the Buffaloes into a football powerhouse.

However, despite Prime Time’s declaration that both his star quarterback sons, Shedeur and Shilo, will abstain from entering the NFL Draft in 2024, affording the coach ample time to fortify the visibly beleaguered football program at Boulder, the scenario is marred by a succession of disheartening departures and de-commitments. These cast a looming uncertainty over both the team’s trajectory and Coach Prime’s tenure at Boulder.

Nick Marsh, the four-star wide receiver who had previously committed to Michigan State, has decided to cancel his official visit to the University of Colorado. Although he had initially planned to explore the Buffaloes’ program, Marsh’s change of heart indicates that he is now focusing on his commitment to the Spartans. “Honestly, I’m not even sure if it was the ‘OV’ that did it,” Marsh had suggested early in July. “It was just a long talk and conversation that I had with my mom. Additionally, he fears being overshadowed by the Sanders brothers in Colorado, which is something that conflicts with his interests. Marsh opined, “I just want to be that guy and get noticed. I want to be noticed, I think that’s the best place to do it.”

Marsh, hailing from River Rouge, Michigan, is a highly regarded prospect in the 2024 class. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 200 pounds, he ranks as one of the top 25 wide receivers. His decision to remain solidly committed to Michigan State comes after the recent hire of Jonathan Smith as head coach, regardless of whether the Spartans retain their wide receiver coach, Courtney Hawkins.

His initial commitment was a significant boost for the Buffaloes, especially considering his impressive stats and potential. As a sophomore, he threw for 3,663 yards and 40 touchdowns at Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia.

While the exact reasons for his de-commitment remain undisclosed, it’s a notable development for Colorado. The Buffaloes will need to regroup and continue their recruiting efforts to secure a strong quarterback presence for the future. Hill’s decision opens up new possibilities for both him and the Buffs, and the college football world will be watching closely to see where he ultimately lands.
