Coach Prime is finally being called out for letting Shedeur run wild and this time, it’s his friend who is making the brutal judgment. The Colorado Buffaloes haven’t had the best 2023 season with a 4-8 record. Despite their poor performance, overconfidence continues to be the policy that Deion is leading his program with, as was evident in the case of Xavier Smith’s exit.
Xavier Smith, the former defensive back for the Colorado Buffaloes, had a negative opinion of Deion Sanders and talked about how the HC told him to leave the Buffs and enter the transfer portal, in a brutal way too. The tweet that was going viral had Shedeur respond to it with sheer arrogance. Now, both Deion and Shedeur are at the forefront of all the backlash as their fans slowly turn against them.

On the latest episode of the Unnecessary Roughness show, the crew was seen discussing everything that was going on in the college football world currently, and in came the topic of whether Deion took it too far with the beef with Smith. Later, they called out Deion and Shedeur’s attitude towards Smith on X and brought up the fact that they shouldn’t be condescending on social media with a team that has only had 4 wins in the last season.
Kayce Smith, who is known to be a dear friend of Deion, said, “I don’t care who you are, it’s just a bad look. NFL teams are not going to like this. I don’t know why Deion thinks it’s a good idea. Deion, the player, was cocky, but as a coach, you do kind of have to separate that. The problem for me is the shine has obviously worn off people are able to criticize him. I like Dion a lot but you can’t be talking s*** like that and be so public about it and there’s no leadership and then have another year like you did.”
Thus, she targeted the might of Coach Prime as this highly influential coach in the NCAA and fully called him out for his son’s misbehavior. But as per a recent tweet, it looks like Deion finally realizes his mistakes as per his recent statement.

Coach Prime was involved in a series of heated exchanges on social media when he kept retaliating against criticism regarding his team management strategies, first brought up by Xavier Smith. Moreover, the trolling was especially worse when Deion clapped back at the stats of defensive back Jaheim Ward from Autin Peay.
🔥 @DeionSanders explains the responses he posted last week
"I can't go at them with my mind because my mind is a killer. I said Lawd Jesus, like dang he really went after him. The other gentleman that came at Shedeur – that was me"#SkoBuffs

He clarified his words and said, “I gotta do better on that and not ride with it, but I was bored. I was bored, and I didn’t say nothing hurtful. I don’t attack people. I try my best to refrain, but like when you posted like stats, I said, `Lawd Jesus,’ like dang, he really went at him, like he really shot him. That’s really what I meant, and I think that was taken wrong. I think that was taken sideways or something else.”
Thus, Deion seems to be apologizing, but what the entire social media scandal has done is raise the standards for the fans’ expectations from Colorado, going into this season.
