“When you talk to his teammates, they don’t like him, they love him,” Bears general manager Ryan Poles said in the NFL owners’ meetings when asked about Caleb Williams. It’s a match made in heaven for Caleb Williams and the Bears because they have the first pick this draft season. Since the USC QB earned the spot of the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft in almost all mock drafts, the No. 1 pick holder, Chicago Bears began their quest for Williams. The rest is history.
Per the latest intel by the Drive in the Bears-Caleb Williams saga, Caleb Williams reported to his “inner circle” that “he expects the Chicago Bears to pick him number 1 OVERALL.” Even head coach Matt Eberflus gave the green flag to Caleb Williams since he had a “really good visit” with his Bears contingent that attended the LSU Pro Day. Per the report, several NFL teams have ranked JJ McCarthy ahead of Drake Maye on their draft boards.

“A high-ranking evaluator I spoke to this week said McCarthy’s winning resume, upside as a mobile QB, and impeccable poise under pressure all graded out higher for them than Maye,” reported the NFL Draft Scout. However, Heisman Champion Jayden Daniels remains a tough competitor of JJ McCarthy on the NFL draft board. Will JJ McCarthy take over Jayden Daniels as well? Or will Daniels be drafted before McCarthy? Drop your predictions in the comments.
