Shedeur Sanders has opted to extend his stay with the Colorado Buffaloes instead of entering the 2024 NFL Draft, despite being eligible. The decision comes after a mixed debut season where Colorado finished with a 4-8 record. Despite the challenges, Sanders is determined to improve the team’s performance in the upcoming season. Confident in his abilities, he believes he could be a top quarterback prospect if he had chosen to enter the draft this year.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated’s Brice Butler, Shedeur said, “I’m biased, but I don’t see a quarterback that’s better than me.” Sanders elaborated, “I don’t see a quarterback that went through as much adversity as me, that had four different OCs in four years,” drawing attention to the numerous difficulties faced in the previous season.

Despite facing obstacles like frequent changes in offensive coordinators and a significant number of sacks, Sanders delivered impressive performances during the 2023 season. He further discussed how bearing the privilege of being Deion Sander’s son does not necessarily take the pressure of performance off his shoulders, that’s a lot more adversity than you think, just even being the son of Deion Sanders.”

Despite receiving attention from NFL scouts, Sanders chose to continue his collegiate career under his father’s guidance. Moreover, Deion Sanders suggests that another Colorado player, Travis Hunter, could also attract attention as a top prospect in the upcoming draft.
