The Colorado star player is touted to be a top pick in the NFL Draft in 2025 and yet, he is still to prove his talent on the gridiron. Even with all the mock drafts predicting him to be an overall number-one pick, the current wide receiver for the Raiders steps in with his opinion that puts Shedeur down.
Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, is at the forefront of all the headlines in the college football world. Despite the constant social media beef with players like Xavier Smith, Cormani McClain, and even Gavin Kuld, his draft stock remains persistent as a possible 1st overall pick in next year’s Draft. Now, one of the top WRs in the NFL, Davante Adams, has made the bold prediction that the Raiders would never draft Shedeur even with his exceptional talents.

There have been several teams that are rumored to show interest in Shedeur after the tumultuous season for the Buffaloes. Some of the names include the likes of the Commanders, the Patriots, and even the Las Vegas Raiders. Additionally, the Pro Football Network came out with their own predictions for next year’s Draft which emphasized Shedeur being picked by the Raiders, something which didn’t sit right with Davante Adams.

Adams, who is known to be an outspoken social media personality, laid his entire wealth and career on the line on a wager that the Raiders would not pick Shedeur. His tweet read, “I will bet everything I own on the Raiders not drafting Shedeur Sanders” Thus, even with the unanimous support of several NFL GMs, Adams isn’t convinced of Shedeur’s potential and clearly doesn’t believe that he’s a good fit for the Raiders even though the mock drafts suggest otherwise. With all that being said, here is ESPN’s mock draft which comes out with its own prediction of the Raiders trading up in the hopes of landing Shedeur.

Shedeur would be a great addition to the Raiders squad
As of now, there seems to be a lot of talk and speculations regarding the son of Coach Prime, heading to the number 1 overall pick as one of the top 10 players to watch this season. Additionally, as per USA Today’s 2025 mock draft, Shedeur was placed at first overall and was picked by the Tennessee Titans. Also, ESPN’s On-air talent and analyst, Jordan Reid, made an interesting prediction himself about Shedeur and the Raiders, that will surely get the fans’ ears perked up.
So the king @Jordan_Reid already did a 2025 mock draft. He has Shedeur Sanders as a top 5 pick and a fit for the RAIDERS. Here’s why, Sanders’ comp, and why Carson Beck will be QB1 this time next year. LOADED This Is Football today. pic.twitter.com/tgcgVSzTzz

While Adams is absolutely certain that Shedeur would never make it to the Raiders’ roster, Reid had the exact opposite argument to make. He said, “With Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Brock Bowers on offense, the Raiders can set up a young passer really well. And Sanders is a smooth operator whose game centers around his great ball placement (69.3% completion rate last season, eighth in the FBS) and calm demeanor when protected in the pocket. But he has a ton of talent and can certainly be the answer for Las Vegas.” With the onset of the upcoming season, all eyes might just be on Shedeur Sanders, as he’s riding a wave of expectations set forth by the NCAA and the NFL communities altogether.
