As reported by the Chicago Tribune on March 8th, there was an ice-breaker discussion between Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears at Lucas Oil Stadium during a short interview at the NFL Scouting Combine. The USC QB felt confident and relaxed after his 10-minute conversation. Williams said, “It was more about them getting to know me, getting to test my mental (capacity), what I know, the base things for what it takes to be a quarterback in the NFL,”
However, fans are more eager to know if the Bears and Williams have finalized their deal. Williams smiled and answered, “In 10 minutes, it’s difficult time to figure out if they’re going to be able to develop you,” He further added, “I enjoyed the meeting. It was a good meeting. But in 10 minutes or so? It’s pretty difficult.”

Well, looking at the response from Williams about the meeting, it looks like the conversation was smooth and the Bears look extremely interested in him. However, there is a concern that may negatively affect this transaction.
Caleb Williams refuses to provide medicals after skipping the NFL Combine
Several top QBs like Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and Caleb Williams refused to be a part of the NFL Combine throws this year, with Williams being the only player to not provide his medicals. He later clarified his stand on his status by saying, “I played around 30-something games, I believe. Go ahead and go watch real-live ball of me, and see how I am as a competitor.” Since the Bears are yet to trade away Justin Fields, it will affect their decision-making. However, there is a silver lining to this dilemma as he will provide medicals to the teams who can either draft him or he wants to play with.
