Following an impressive season with the Maryland Terrapins, Taulia Tagovailoa, the starting quarterback for the team, has officially declared his decision to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. He is the younger brother of Miami Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Instead of his outstanding performances from Alabama to Maryland, Taulia’s journey has consisted of record-breaking achievements, which set up a perfect stage to make this transition into a professional career.

The NFL has constantly seen brother duos performing well, with Travis Kelce being a tight end for the Kansas City Chief, and his elder brother Jason, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been a linchpin of his team’s offensive line. Similarly, TJ and JJ Watt have made significant contributions to the NFL as defensive stalwarts known for their disruptive play and relentless pursuit of excellence. This gives the Miami Dolphins a historic opportunity to unite the two brothers and form a formidable partnership for years in the NFL.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, Tua Tagovailoa was selected as the fifth overall pick by the Miami Dolphins, who viewed him as a franchise quarterback capable of leading their offense for years to come. In 2024, his brother Taulia faces a similar situation where Miami could draft a talented young quarterback in him. “Tagovailoa’s family would like to bring him to the city where his brother, Tua Tagovailoa, is a star,” a source reported to 247Sports. Statistical achievements and postseason appearances marked Tagovailoa’s career at Maryland. Now, his journey to the NFL also comes with its challenges, as the Miami Dolphins could be a franchise of interest in the young quarterback to unite him with his brother and form a formidable partnership on the field. In fact, Taulia’s performance has been impressive enough for him to get offered millions!

This begs the question if, like Travis and Jason Kelce and JJ Watt & TJ Watt, will he also move to Miami and join his brother, the starting quarterback for the side? “(I’d rather) be at a place where maybe I don’t have as much, but I’m happy, and I’m here to work.” Tualia said in an interview, hinting towards a potential destination that would align with his heart over money, preferably somewhere in Florida.
