“They are irrelevant” Well it looks like Paul Finebaum is going to have to eat back his words cause the NCAA just handed Deion Sanders his golden ticket. With much speculation and jabs being thrown around the Buffs and Coach Prime, fans are on the edge of their seats wondering how Deion is going to ensure that the 2024 season is the best for the team. Deion Sanders has already started working on the major weaknesses that were visible after their 4-8 run last season. Now, Prime To Colorado brings us some sweet news that is bound to help Prime build his dream team.

On July 25th, Prime To Colorado put out a video talking about the new step that the NCAA is planning on. “NCAA is expected to improve increased scholarships across multiple sports,” Prime To Colorado mentioned in his video, meaning that football will see a massive increase of 20 scholarship seats. This would take Colorado’s 85 scholarship player limit to a whole new 105. Coach Prime is already making massive changes to the team’s O-line. With the early transfer portal this year, Deion brought in 6 new offensive linemen into the team to ensure that Shedeur Sanders is protected in the pocket. Deion had acknowledged during an interview with ESPN that, “We got to protect that quarterback.” With all the new additions, it would give Shedeur much more freedom to use his accuracy to its full advantage without any interruptions.

Not only that, but this also opens doors for Deion Sanders to look forward to something after his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, and his star player, Travis Hunter, leave for the NFL. Many have already projected that Shedeur and Shilo could end up in the Raiders while Travis could make his way to the Patriots. However, what’s more interesting are the players that Coach Prime can finally bring on board with a scholarship.

While last season Deion couldn’t give out more than 85 scholarships, he will finally have the ability to expand this time. One notable name that comes to mind, who is definitely deserving of a scholarship, is Kaleb Mathis. That kid went out and made his mark against the Trojans with his amazing game-winning touchdown. With solid 45 receptions and 6 touchdowns under his belt, he could be a top name for a scholarship.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Deion Sanders' aggressive recruiting turn Colorado into a powerhouse, or is it just hype?

Have an interesting take?

We have already seen the impact this has on players as well. Back in April, when Coach Prime decided to give a scholarship to Dakota Ridge walk-on Charlie Offerdahl, it was an amazing moment. “He’s a ‘yes-sir, no-sir’ type of guy who’s always on time,” Deion had mentioned when talking about Charlie O. That kid has amazing versatility, and no wonder he got what he deserved. Anyway, let’s wait and see who Deion Sanders manages to bag next for the team.
