George Kittle and Will Compton banter
After the Huskers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Atlanta Falcons linebacker Will Compton shared a screenshot of a message that he sent the 49ers tight end George Kittle.

But his attempt to troll the Iowa alumni fell flat on its face when Kittle came up with a savage reply where he pointed out the head-to-head record between the two colleges since 2014.

The win was the University of Iowa’s first over Nebraska in eight years. Kittle played for Iowa from 2013 to the 2016 season. Nebraska last won against Iowa in 2013 but Kittle did not feature in the game. Iowa won every meeting between the two after that until Friday night’s win. Compton played for Nebraska from 2009 to 2012. Both the players never really faced each other during college but their college rivalry is still going strong.
Nebraska’s first win in eight years
The Cornhuskers hadn’t won against the Hawkeyes since 2014. And nobody expected them to win this one too because of how their season had gone till that point. The Huskers snapped out of the seven-game losing streak against the Hawkeyes with a surprise win. Not only that, but they also snapped out of a five-game losing streak in the current season as well.

Nebraska established its dominance early on and kept Iowa from getting anything on the board in the first half. Interim coach Mickey Joseph etched when the Huskers won 24-17.
The Huskers QB Casey Thompson had a particularly good game as he threw 20 completions for 278 yards out of 30 pass attempts. He also threw three touchdown passes in the game. But he didn’t have a good time rushing the ball as he lost a total of 15 yards in five carries, averaging a -3-yard return.

The Huskers fired head coach Scott Frost back in September after a dismal start to the season. The fortunes haven’t turned so much since Joseph took over as interim coach but the win over Iowa may be a new dawn. The team is currently sixth in the Big Ten West with a 4-8 overall record. Can they finish on a high?
