It’s often said that nothing misses Stephen A. Smith’s eyes. Well, it’s true, and his recent comments on Ja Morant prove it. Morant is currently under a lot of scrutiny, due to his recent blunders, but on Wednesday, he received some relief by reading Deion Sanders’ inspiring words on X/Twitter. However, his reaction to Prime’s tweet didn’t go well with the analyst.

On Wednesday, Coach Prime posted some motivating words urging people to focus on all the positivity in their lives and disallowing negativity from ruling their minds. These words may have inspired Morant, but given current circumstances, Smith was annoyed and gave timely advice to the basketball point guard. Smith was quick to rip out the monetary losses and burst the youngster’s bubble. He took on himself via his YouTube channel to pinpoint the issue and teach the young player about handling money.

The popular analyst and commentator in his recent YouTube channel video took shots at Ja Morant. The Grizzlies point guard replied with “right on time prime 🙏🏾🤝🏾🙌🏾💙 much needed ☮️🧘🏾‍♂️”,  as Deion Sanders shared a wisdom-filled message on the platform X.

However, Smith’s cross with the player’s money blowouts taught him a lesson. Speaking on his channel, the veteran analyst remarked “I know he’s gonna get $231 million. He’s got $231 million coming to him with his new contract, his player contract, but $60 million is $60 million.”

Smith was referring to the huge money losses of over $60 million that the player incurred for his off-court antics, i.e., illegal gun possession. Morant was given a 25-game suspension which would result in $7.6 million loss from his own 2023-24 NBA salary, but the sum total of losses occurring would be in the league of $50-60 million, including the losses from his first eight-game suspension that occurred due to his first gun scandal.

He further highlighted that the money was nothing but for the foolishness done by Morant. Despite calling the player out and tearing him apart, Smith concluded with fatherly advice saying that he still wanted the youngster to learn from his mistake and succeed in his life. Hopefully, Morant follows the inspirational message shared by Deion Sanders.
