Deion Sanders extended his warm greetings to the Florida A&M Rattlers side for becoming the Celebration Bowl champions. Led by their HC Willie Simmons, the A&M side defeated defending champions, the Howard Bisons to become the undisputed 2023 HBCU National Champions. It was a result of perseverance, hard work, and thorough consistency that handed the Florida team the win.

Coach Prime who is busy with the recruitment of players for his new-look team, took to social media to share his emotions. It is always great to see one head coach outpouring love and blessings for another. This is the Rattlers’ 16th overall HBCU title and one they can be utterly proud of, just as Sanders is.

The 2x Superbowl Winner recently praised another team’s efforts. Deion Sanders took to Instagram to share an endearing message for his fellow brother and HC Willie Simmons on winning the Celebration Bowl. Coach Prime wrote- “My brother, my friend and Coach of the Year! I’m so darn proud of u, your team, and your staff. You are a CHAMPION! The best is yet to come so get ready.

This message was backed by a collage of the players and the Rattlers’ coach in the center. Prime Time was seriously impressed and proud of his fellow HC’s achievement. The Coach of the Year line is no throwaway either. Simmons won the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS Region 3 Coach of the Year honor for the second year in a row. He was also a finalist for the 2023 Eddie Robinson Award, which ultimately went to South Dakota State’s, Jimmy Rogers.

Nonetheless, as Sanders pointed out, winning the HBCU Celebration Bowl is no mean feat and it takes guts to win it multiple times. Of course, it wasn’t all rosy for the Florida side as they fought tooth and nail to win the championship title.
