It’s time for Shilo Sandеrs to face another challenge. Aftеr еnduring surgеry to address his misshapеn pinky fingеr months ago, thе Buffaloеs safеty rеturnеd to thе doctor’s officе oncе morе. Documеnting his еxpеriеncе on his YouTubе channеl, Shilo undеrwеnt a minor procеdurе to rеmovе a pin from his prеviously injurеd pinky fingеr.
Howеvеr, what was intеndеd as a straightforward mеdical appointmеnt turnеd into a comеdic affair as Shilo’s dramatic rеactions drеw mockеry from thosе around him. The removal procedure started as the doctor applied some numbing anesthetic gel on the palm under Shilo’s right pinky finger. Despite the gel application to ease discomfort, Shilo’s fear of needles led to a series of humorous outbursts.
As the doctor prepared to administer the injection and Shilo braced himself for the impending discomfort with a nervous smile, he exclaimed, “Yeah, this is about to hurt. I could tell.” However, when the needle made contact, his composure quickly dissolved into shouts of agony: “Ah, this hurts so bad, oh my gosh! I can’t feel it yet, but I know it is about to hurt.” Despite reassurances from medical staff and athletic trainer Lauren Askevold, Shilo continued to vocalize his distress, much to the amusement of those present. Lauren hilariously asked the doctor, “Is he the most dramatic patient you’ve ever seen? You can be honest.”

But the ever-dramatic Safety of Colorado was not ready to stay calm during the procedure and kept screaming hilariously. Lauren added, “You can’t even feel anything… you’re doing great, except the screaming.” Then the doctor even hilariously added, “Best supporting actor award goes to… Shilo Sanders.” Notably, Shilo has grappled with his injury for an extended period.

It began during his time at South Carolina, where he suffered a torn ACL. Upon joining Jackson State, he encountered yet another ACL injury, which resulted in a broken pinky finger. Just before undergoing surgery in January, Shilo had a conversation with his father and Coach Prime over FaceTime. Coach Prime tried to lift Shilo’s mood by pointing out how irrelevant pinky fingers are.
In an attempt to boost his morale before the surgery, Deion Sanders claimed, “Son, don’t try to get out of everything else for a pinky. Pinkies don’t ever count, dawg.” To uplift Shilo’s morale before the surgery, Coach Prime drew parallels to Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott and suggested, “Why don’t you do like Ronnie Lott and cut the tip off, like a real safety.”

Now that the pin has been removed from Shilo’s finger, he hilariously urged Lauren to show it to his dad and said, “That was in my pinky this whole time. Send this to all the strength coaches and send this to my dad because he doesn’t take me seriously when I say no to up-downs. I couldn’t do them because of the pin in my pinky.” What do you think of this ordeal? Share with us in the comments!
