And with that, all the sensationalism surrounding the 11-year-old Baby Gronk comes to an end. The tides have now turned against the once fan-favorite star, San Miguel. The college football community has been buzzing with the frequent updates of Baby Gronk’s flips to universities. No doubt the 11-year-old has proved himself as a standout player with his recorded 1,000 plus rushing yards and 20 touchdowns among his 5th-grade peers.

However, more than this, it was the ‘fake’ commitments he had left the fans baffled. It was amusing when the elementary school kid picked his top 30 schools in early May, which made him a ‘CFB celebrity’ overnight. The saga then turned to Baby Gronk flipping his commitments from one top university to another. It wasn’t until May 29 that San Miguel was flipping his commitments like his clothes.

Just when the fans thought it was over, Miguel came in with another announcement for the fans. “Where Should I Flip to Next?” Baby Gronk said in a now-deleted text on X on 6 June, immediately inviting a burning backlash from fans who are now nothing but frustrated with all the drama going on. The fans did not hold back in the sarcasm this time as ‘Fake Wyo Sports’ echoed the humor fans found in Baby Gronk’s indecisiveness through their tweet saying, “Baby Gronk has more commitment issues than an ex-girlfriend. On a serious note, I feel awful for that kid.”

The mastermind behind the whole drama surrounding Baby Gronk’s flipping spree is his father, Jake San Miguel, who operates his son’s social media accounts. Since the picture of Baby Gronk in a photoshopped Texas jersey, accompanying his announcement of flipping to Texas went viral, fans have rolled out some scorching backlash on Jake San Migueal, calling him each sort of thing, from an “attention seeker” to a “person who exploits his son for some publicity,” and much more.

Fans bubble with seething rage over Baby Gronk

Baby Gronk’s flickering commits have quickly made it to be the talk of the town. The ‘bad’ talk of the town, where fans share their unfiltered opinion publicly, humiliating San Miguel and his father.

“This is NASTY business,” a fan replied to the question, stating the answer that any other of Miguel’s peers would be getting within a second. It seems like the best option for San Miguel for now since committing to a different school is nonbinding. Baby Gronk has made no official visits to any of these schools as well, another reason to call it a farce.

However, San Miguel’s father did claim to the Athletic in 2023 that Arizona had given their son a verbal offer. This only prompted the fans to drag his father’s name through the mud more. “And when no colleges ACTUALLY want the kid because of his dad, he’ll wonder why… sad really,” they said. Clearly, San Miguel’s father was getting all the heat for the stunt. Meanwhile, Baby Gronk was not spared from it as well.

Fans brought up hilarious answers to the question. They did not sugarcoat the fact that the whole CFB community has now joined hands to criticize him. “All of CFB joining together to stop him,” a fan suggested.

The other came in with a suggestion that had everyone hollering. “What if we all just muted that account,” the reply suggested. Above all, the fans, who were once amused by the little stunts of the little footballer, now it is just leading them to more and more frustration.
