Shedeur Sanders isn’t set to enter the NFL draft until next year. However, his draft situation is stealing the headlines after Deion Sanders recently initiated a conversation regarding them pulling an Eli. He asserted his views on his son’s potential landing spot in the NFL saying, “There’s certain cities that ain’t gonna happen… It’s gonna be an Eli.”
Following this declaration, social media has lately been abuzz with divided opinions on his concerns for Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Shilo Sanders when they enter the 2025 NFL Draft. While some sparked their opposition and criticized Coach Prime’s intentions, he also earned a fair share of supporters who are willing to stick with him through thick and thin.

American journalist Roland S. Martin is among the supporters for Deion Sanders’ Eli revelation on Shedeur Sanders. In his recent YouTube upload, he said, “I believe that Deion is absolutely right. He wants his son and Travis Hunter, who he looks at as a son, to be in the best position to be great… I think more athletes should do this because they should not be forced to go to places just because of a draft.”
The debate is real. Deion Sanders’ previous statement revealed that he wants his sons to pull an Eli and not play for certain teams if they draft them. And while people like Martin are all in support of Coach Prime’s vision for his players, considering the severity of the NFL Draft situation, this has also brought out a bunch of people who are totally against the Eli situation.
