The Colorado prodigy, Travis Hunter, is making his way to the top, thanks to all the newfound glory from making it to the cover of EA Sports’ College Football 25. Despite the haters’ backlash against him, the WR continues to rise as he awaits the upcoming season to prove them all wrong.
Travis Hunter, the WR and the cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes, is one of the most talented players in the 2024 class. Before the announcement of Hunter being on the cover, his NIL ranking was below the likes of Arch Manning, the Texas QB, and now, he stands just 3 spots below his teammate, Shedeur Sanders, who still stands at the top. If the 2024 season goes his way, Hunter could very well go on to be the most-paid athlete in college history.

Back in August 2023, Manning’s valuation was standing at $2.8 million, while also securing the 5th spot in the On3 NIL rankings. The QB’s earnings surpassed that of even the likes of Justin Fields and Brock Purdy in the NFL. On the other hand, Hunter was ranked below him at a valuation of $2.4 million. Now, it looks like the tables have turned drastically, as the Colorado star takes the lead.
As per the newest update by the On3 rankings, Hunter has taken the 4th spot in terms of NIL rankings and left Arch Manning in his dust. Hunter’s net worth is currently being valued at a staggering amount of $2.7 million. What’s interesting to note is that the game hasn’t even been released yet, and still, Hunter is still at the receiving end of monumental success.

The name of Travis Hunter took over by a storm when it was revealed that he was in the center of the game cover, and besides him were Donovan Edwards and Quinn Ewers. As such, it led the fans to speculate that the Colorado WR is being emphasized by EA and is most likely to have the highest recording player rating in the game, which is 99. The 99 rating for a player was last observed for Andrew Luck in the NCAA Football 12 game.
Moreover, most of the NCAA community believes that Hunter would hold the 99 rating due to his specialty of being great at the dual positions of a WR as well as a cornerback. Even Quinn Ewers, the QB for the Longhorns, tends to believe that it will be Hunter who should receive the highest rating despite being on the cover as well. Thus, if this ends up happening, Hunter will surely surpass the likes of Bronny James and Olivia Dunne, and potentially, even Shedeur Sanders, since he might just become the face of college sports.
