It was a day that started with a huge, ear-to-ear grin for Deion Sanders. This wasn’t surprising because Coach Prime held a beautiful deep green Audemars Piguet box. The reason? His early birthday surprise. Coach Prime’s birthday is about 20 days away, on August 19. However, at the same time, the eldest Sanders child, Deiondra Sanders, is due with her first baby boy.

Not wanting to steal her spotlight (or wanting her to steal the spotlight of his big surprise), Shedeur Sanders gave his special gift to his father way before his birthday. We knew it was Shedeur Sanders even before Bucky confirmed it. It was Audemars Piguet, Shedeur’s first choice. His $70k custom studded Royal Oak is a testament to it. The QB is known for splurging a hefty wand of cash on his watches. This one was no different. But Shedeur wanted to gift something even more extravagant to his father before his 57th birthday.

Shedeur’s gift was a 41 mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph in an 18-carat yellow gold case with a glare-proofed sapphire crystal and case back, a beauty worth $78k. Well Off Media‘s July 19 video perfectly captured the raw emotions flowing through Deion Sanders when he opened his gift.

Deion Sanders’ honest reaction to his expensive gift

At first, Prime was so shocked that he was not even ready to accept it, just like the $7 million villa he refused to take as a gift back in January. However, once his sons Shilo and Bucky convinced him to keep it and open the box, Prime’s ear-to-ear smile was worth every effort for his pre-birthday surprises.

Once he adored his “heavy” gift, Prime hugged each of his sons. Shilo got a hug with a joking “thank you for doing nothing for your family,” jab, and Deion Sanders Jr. got one where he said to Shedeur, “I can’t even take credit for it.”

However, Shedeur got hugs and kisses from his father with some great words from his dad. Initially, Shedeur rebutted Prime, saying, “That’s what you do before you get something.” However, Prime cut him off with some sweet words. “I’m proud of you, though. Because you manage your money right and you’re able to do that,” Prime said, lauding his kid.

Shedeur’s current NIL value is about $4.8 million, the highest in the NCAA. No wonder he manages his finances well enough to get another Audemars Piguet in his family.
