Just one word of Shedeur Sanders has reportedly cost the top NIL-valued player $85,000. Currently enthroned as the #1 player in the whole of NCAA on the ON3 NIL valuation list, Shedeur Sanders has enough to flaunt, like his $4.5 million NIL valuation, which was $4.6 million just a couple of months back (more on this in a minute). Parallelly, he has some things he might not be very proud about, like some of his social media comments on his former teammates.

It was not too long ago that Shedeur Sanders hit the absolute fiver pitch of criticism when he called his former teammate Xavier Smith “mid” over a tweet responding to Smith’s claims against his program. “You didn’t even try to get to know me,” was Smith’s claim, alleging Deion Sanders of ‘favoritism’ as reported by the Athletic in April 2024. Getting furious over a former player speaking ill about his father, Shedeur Sanders took to his X to tweet “Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.”

Well, that was all that the detractors needed. Shedeur’s leadership skills took the biggest hit, as analysts and people worldwide started accusing him of not being a good team leader, who would not be a suitable fit for teams in the 2025 NFL draft. Shedeur Sanders’ draft stock started plummeting straight downhill, with NFL mock draft analysts calling him someone not worthy to be a ‘first-rounder‘.

Guess what, it was not just his draft stock that took the hit; it was his NIL valuation as well. Even though he still is the guy with the top NIL valuation in the whole of NCAA, Shedeur Sanders’ NIL valuation witnessed a -2% decline over the past 10 weeks, totaling a loss of about $85k in his total NIL valuation, per the list released by On3 on June 26.

Now that his NFL draft stock is steadily rising, will his NIL valuation follow?

Since the mock draft analysts have flagged Shedeur’s draft stirred on the back of his online activities, several NFL veterans and former pro bowler fellows of Deion Sanders have jumped to defend Shedeur Sanders’ reputation and draft stock. Shannon Sharpe, Chad Johnson, and Warren Sapp all have iterated on their podcasts that “Shedeur will be the No.1 QB to get drafted in the 2025 draft.”

Despite all this, Shedeur Sanders’ draft stock is still a question. Now another question of whether Shedeur’s draft stock will be restored to $4.6 million or higher would also be joined to the equation. Shedeur Sanders’ face will always be an NIL favorite. However, is it that big among the fans to restore his NIL valuation or not? Only time will tell.
