Deion Sanders never let being a single parent prevent him from forming a bond with his kids. This is precisely why all of them laugh their hearts out when they remember all the banter they shared with their dad. Right from their childhoods until they became the stars of college football, their father was standing right beside them. But that does not mean his kids don’t get back at him for things from childhood. They do, brutally.
Recalling one such incident, Shedeur Sanders opened up on his newly launched 2 Legendary with Shedeur Sanders podcast. Taking his brothers, Shilo and Deion Sanders Jr., the guests on the podcast went down their childhood memory lane. Shedeur and Shilo recalled how their father would only give them a few dollars for their trip to the mall.
Coach Prime once ripped a $100 bill to give one part each to Shedeur and Shilo, as Shedeur recalled. Then, there was hardly anything Shedeur and Shilo could do about their father being stern on them for the money lessons or their “stingy dad story,” as Deion Sanders Jr. calls it. Now, however, the tables have turned. When Shedeur got the chance to, he settled the records with his dad. Here’s how:

“You know last week he called me like, ‘Hey let me drive your car.’ My Cullinan. I said no dwag, you got to ask nicely,” Shedeur said, barely able to control his laugh toward the end. Shilo and Bucky joined in the laughing session, too, with Shilo saying, “You can’t do your father like that.”

Despite all this daily banter, the Sanders family deeply cares for each other, evidenced by how they display their affection. And this week, it will be more than ever since this week will mark Coach Prime’s 57th birthday. It goes without saying that the birthday preparations are in full swing.

While the Sanders kids have hinted at making their father’s birthday big this year, Shedeur Sanders has already chipped in his part. The Colorado QB’s affinity for luxury watches is no secret. So, for Shedeur, there was no better gift than an 18-caret Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Chronograph, a beauty worth $78k as an early birthday present.
Based on Shedeur’s gift, fans can only fathom the magnitude of the Sanders kids’ plans for their father’s birthday. Even if it’s not a major party with everyone on the dock, it will be something extraordinary for Coach Prime since this year will mark some of his best years as a head coach, with his sons shining bright in the CFB world and later in the NFL arena.
