The shiny QB of the Colorado Buffaloes has never really tried to shy away from flaunting his wealth, but there’s a good chance that he might have made a huge error in judgment during one of his biggest purchases recently. The hype around a Tesla truck in America is massive, to say the least. As such, there’s a probable chance that Shedeur might’ve overpaid for the exclusivity to obtain the rare vehicle.

Shedeur Sanders, the QB for the Colorado Buffaloes, is one of the richest college athletes in the country. With an NIL valuation of $4.7 million, he is ranked among the top 5 athletes as per On3. Despite not seeing a lot of success on the gridiron, he is making insane money moves outside the field. But recent comments made by Chad Johnson have got the fans wondering whether Shedeur ended up making a poor financial decision in trying to buy the Tesla truck.

In one of the recently released clips from the Nightcap show, Chad Johnson and Shannon Sharpe were seen discussing the case of Ji’ayir Brown, who almost paid a staggering amount of $230,000 for the purchase of a Tesla truck. Johnson gave his own opinion on the matter and disclosed the ugly truth behind the curtain that the fans weren’t aware of.

He said, “The problem is that there’s a waiting list at Tesla. So there are other car dealerships that have them and what they’re doing is they’re just marking the truck up because of supply and demand and understanding that there are people that have the money and they will spend it just to say, “I got a cyber truck before everybody else.”

Thus, since these vehicles are so rare and they’re being sold at hiked prices, it might be possible that Shedeur also ended up overpaying in order to be the only man in Colorado to have one of these trucks.

Shedeur and his one-of-a-kind Cyberbeast

The NIL policy has made many college players happy, but none more so than Sheduer Sanders. Back in the 2023 season, his signature move became the flexing of his expensive AP watch in front of rival fans. Thus, the youngster has always been a keen showboater but shocked all the fans when he announced the purchase of the Cybertruck.

Tesla has three models of the Cybertruck and Shedeur ended up purchasing the ‘Cyberbeast’, which is estimated to be valued at a minimum of $99,000. Since then, he has become the first person in Colorado to own a cyber truck. But after Johnson’s revelations, it might be possible that Shedeur chose not to disclose the reality of it all and pay more than the actual cost due to the heavy demand for the vehicle.
